LOL Mark, don't let those images of 'boxing kangaroos' fool you, their biggest weapon is their feet... one animal you certainly don't want to get a kick from! Shocked

Compared to their feet, their paws are pretty tame! Wink

Ah that's easy to sort out - when you have feet as big as mine the 'roos will flee in terror! And if they don't I'll just tread on their toes  Tongue

Yeah but do their vicious kicks compare to those of a horse? Since they clout you with 2 hooves simultaneously and have a good deal of weight behind them!!

Hi Roz:

Horses can be very nasty too!  I do think that a horses kick would be more dangerous to a person but I would not like to volunteer to test out the theory of who's kick is worse!   Wink

I think kangaroos launch both feet at you as well when they kick you... but I think a horse kick would be worse if the horse was shod - it would be like being kicked with steel capped boots - yeow! Like Ed says - I do not wish to test out these theories!

Imagine - being kicked by a steel capped shoe wearing kangaroo! Shocked

Yep although fortunately it wasn't I being kicked - we were driving along the road, obviously a tourist had stopped by the horses and staying in his car hooted at them - (we heard that as we were getting towards the scene).

That is never a good way to approach an animal who is just standing in the middle of the road for no reason.

Anyway he got out and ran at "the beast" who promptly turned around and kicked him - he flew up and landed on his car smashing the windshield (very movie-esque)!

 Shocked

Anyway I called the ambulance, I know full well the animal will have been put down but if you ask me it was the driver who should have been put down. I approach horses on the road the whole time, you slow down, get out of the car, clap and get them in a firm voice to "get" and "c'mon". They quietly and slowly move off (nothing in their lives is about rushing Wink).

There are 2 things they don't like - loud noises (hooting horns) and things running at them.... this chap had combined both so the horse's reaction was hardly surprising.

Crazy... he certainly deserved to be kicked - to us it would have been as if a madman was running towards us with a knife or something dangerous, I think the horse would have thought the tourist was similarly threatening - I certainly would have defended myselfas well! Some people are really asking for it Tongue
