Not to be nosy but I always find it interesting to know where people are from and what they do.  I think it is cool how we all find a common thread here.  So, what do you do for a living?  What represents you?

I wish I had a good fun story to tell, but I work in a library information agency.  What do I do?  Set up subscriptions for libraries and college libraries all over the US.  I am the middle man between the librarians and the publishers of many journals.   It's pretty boring actually, but once I start a family, I plan on looking for something different.  Right now, it pays the bills.

Awesome!  I do something that sounds cool but in all actuality is rather short of glamerous.  I work as a virologist/geneticist at a children's hospital.  We design and test vaccines for kids around the world......but if you can only imagine the types of "samples" we have to test from babies........ughh    I am currently going back to school to be a middle school science teacher.  No more diapers for me!!!!

I'm pretty sure everyone knows what I do - but I'm not sure it 'represents' me per se.

My official job title is Customer Service Manager for Rittenhouse Archives. I have a few other "jobs" though - not paid ones, and I think those better represent me Smiley

Let's see - I am the Volunteer Charity Coordinator for Non-Sport Update magazine (as evidenced by my Charity Event at Philly Show Thread) -- I love doing this sort of thing!

I am also Mrs. Mattes' Homeroom Parent for Helping Hands. Helping Hands is my son's elementary school organization that also does charitable work in the community - they do everything from weeding the gardens at school, to collecting canned goods, to writing letters to servicemen - anything they can think of, we help them put into action.

I'm also Mrs. Robert Kohlbus - I love my husband very much and am never offended to be called his wife.

I'm also a bona fide, station wagon driving, PTA (Parent-Teacher Association) attending, soccer mom - the epitome of American motherhood Wink

And that's my biggest, and most important job - mom to Evan (18 mos) and Alexander (6 and 1/2).

And that's me Smiley Joanna Lynn Hathaway Kohlbus

Both your jobs sound fun to me.

I wanted to go back t school to get my teaching certificate, but I have put that on hold.

My dream job is to work with animals, or sing, or act, or work with trading cards.........so many choices.

And I agree with Joanna, I love being called my husband's wife.  Someday, i will enjoy being called Mom....

"Mom" is good - unless it sounds like this :

MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM - Evan's BOTHERING ME

or
"MAMAMAMAMAMAMAMAMAMAMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" followed by long jags of crying Smiley

Then, you wish there was someone *else* in the house named Mom Smiley

Well, I'm not a wife or mother (maybe someday), but I am still a Uni student.  I am about to start my phd and Ill be looking at Barnacles using genetics (Im a geneticist too  Cheesy).

I also have a job washing dished in a kitchen (I'm a dishpig  Tongue).  Its a patisserie, so there is lots of yummy food to try, but I never want to look at another vanilla slice again.

My final job, which Im about to start also, is as a demonstrator for 2nd year genetics pracs at my uni.  Basically Im there to show the kids how to do things, and answer all of there questions, without giving them the answers to their assignments  Undecided

Wife or mother? Perish the thought - as if i could ever be that organised Cheesy

I am also a uni student doing my Honours in Psychology - my thesis will be on ignorance which will be fun Wink I work part time in a restaurant as a waitress to support me and my collecting habits Smiley It is an unusual restaurant as it is a big (floating) ferry which is nice - I will have to take some photos for you to see.

My final job? I still am not quite sure - I still have a Master Degree after this year - why go out into the workforce before I have to, right?

I work as 'Human Resources Administrator' for a medium-sized company. Some people may ask what that involves so I will give you a brief overview, my job includes Recruitment (hiring), remuneration, training, drawing up contracts, induction for new people into the company, service awards, policies & procedures, Occupational Health & Safety etc.  Currently I am the 'junior' of the team (only 22 years old) but I have actually been here for the longest in the HR team (2 years)!!!

I am also in my final year (part-time) of a Bachelor of Business in Human Resource Management. It has taken me 5 years to get because of having to study some of it part-time but I only now have 4 subjects left!! YAY!!!

My job is actually kind of boring, but it does have one high point.  My job title is Manufacturing Engineer.  I do not have the normal responsibilities of a typical one though.  My job mainly is writing work instructions for our line people to follow while assembling our products.  I also write operating instructions for new equipment and I also work on instructions for testing our products (some people refer to this as technical writing).  I also am the cooridinator for our manufacturing readiness and quality meetings.  Pretty dull, huh?  The plus side is that I get to work with so many nice people daily.  The ironic things about my job are that I hate paperwork and that I can’t type. Most of my time is spent taking care of my five-year-old twins, but I also do freelance public relations.  I write press releases, magazine articles, and copy for brochures, plus edit a wide variety of documents.  When the writing is done, I pitch the stories to industry trade magazines.

Rns, there's no reason you can't go back to it!  I have a lot of friends who work in entirely different fields than the ones they studied.  You just never know what path your life will take. Smiley

I know.  There is still so much I would like to do.  i think once I decide to have children, my life will completely change and that is when I will decide what my lifelong career will be.  Right now, it just pays the bills. I know this is not where i want to stay.

I dont work...I go to school.

Thats what I do, because I'm home schooled I just stay at home doing my work until Thursday then I go to a school and take test. Its a school that offers a home based program and I'm part of that. Its a Christain based school. Its the most fun I've ever had at school because I'm always in the comfort of my home Grin with my warm little cat Grin named Sabrina. Grin

I thought about home schooling my boys - then I realized they were a lot smarter than I am Smiley  and I wondered if they would miss being with other kids their own age ...

The good news is my oldest loves school, so everyday he's happy to get up and go.

My official title is "Database Programmer".  In reality I do a little of everything I.T. related from Data Processer to Programmer to Database Developer to Database Admin.  About the only thing I don't do is networking.  We don't really have dedicated positions for those duties in our company so everyone pretty much does what they need to manage their clients.

Oh, I do all this for an evil telemarketing company.  So whoever you are, if you have a major credit card, or maybe even if you don't, I have probably loaded your telephone number into a database to be dialed on.  MWWAAAA-HAAAA-HAAAAA.
