Hello everyone! I'm New here..... just got hooked on those awesome cards! I have a very, very low numbered POA Daily Prophet card. Can someone tell if there is a difference of having a low numbered card oppose to a high numbered one. Is there more value to the low numbered?

Is it a Update card or an original set card? There were 2.5X more update (480) cards than original (200) so the latter would be more valuable

There is really no difference between low and high numbered cards, but alot of people prefer the low numbered ones, so it would be worth a bit more in a monetary sense, but for enjoyment, no, there is no difference!

Usually for a prop card such as the Daily Prophet, what makes it more valuable is what the swatch looks like.  A card with lettering is more valuable than a blank swatch.  The more lettering it contains, the more valuable it is.  If the swatch contained a large ornate letter, that would increase its value even more.  Card swatches with these special characteristics are known as "variants".  If the variant card also has a low number, that would increases the value and if the print run is smaller (like FTY mentioned) that adds even more to the value.

Wow! thanks my card is a variant then... has a capital letter. Now, im excited!!!!

Variant cards looks so much better, I thought they would have low numbers, I guess I should collect the high numbered ones too, just to collect.

thanks!

I think Mike meant to say that his costume cards are plain, as opposed to variants.  Right Mike?

The number on the card really doesn't matter as long as you like what you have.  Please do scan it and post it, as we would all love to see it.

Well, it's actually up in the listing guide. I came across it last night. And I realize I paid alot for it too. And I thought I had a deal lol  Embarrassed I didn't know if I should tell everyone who I am on ebay cause i did upset some people by outbidding them on some cards. I just don't want any animosity..... plus, I don't have the card yet. It's on its way to me..... from Europe.
