I have to say I was disappointed I thought the shows effects were poor and the concept silly. I was hoping for the new series to be slick and upto date but found myself thinking it was lacking. We have come to expect that with every incarnation that the technology and effects would be better. To me it felt just like a rehash of what went before. Push forward make it better thats what I think. Of course if this was the piolot and had little money maybe it will improve over time (I hope so) and for goodness sake the sound track was terrible.

just my thoughts I am used to watching slick shows now and if the BBC are trying to compete with things like Buffy, Angel, Battlestar Galactica and Stargate they have missed it so far.

being a media student and a scifi geek i am always very excited when there is new British series however because i am a media student i also know about all the dull technical aspects behind the camera and Dr Who (which i was very eager to see) was just a bit pants.   I was never a big fan of Dr Who not because i didn't like it just that i never watched it so i feel i can be objective.  The script i thought was great it was funny and both Eccleston and Piper worked well together however the production side of things was just very bad - the lighting was auful and the fx were, lets say, not great and whether dodgy fx is a Dr Who tradition i don't know about or don't get  i was just expecting a little more - Having said all that i will be wathcing for the next few weeks to see if it gets better (and i really really hope it does)

Just seen the latest episode and this is getting so good Grin

If anyone was put off by Christopher Eccleston quitting don't be.  This is exactly (in my opinion) what Dr Who should be.

so that's really it for the daleks? That's the last one and it's gone?

How will Dr Who be Dr Who again? Can't he just go back in time and meet them when they were still around? Yeah I'm sure that would do it. You gotta have Daleks in Dr Who!

The last episode  Cry  Saturday's won't be the same  Cry

Another excellent episode.  Great effects (for a BBC budget) and brilliant script.

So now we have a new Doctor and I have a very good feeling the next series will be even better  Grin

Just two question for anyone who saw it.  How did the weakest link winner (I think he was in Casualty or Doctors) know that the Daleks were wiped out thousands of years ago?  And where was Davros??

Cry Cry Cry (yes the end of the series deserved three more of these)

It was a great one I'm glad she saved the day, the new docter seems very promising. Well they though Darleks had been wiped out and he did win the weakest link so probably knew a lot Wink

Top marks

I wonder what will become of the dude the resurrected and then left on an empty space station? I hope he makes a reappearance next series, I thought he was rather good.
