Hi Ed:

What types of films do you like?  I enjoy World War II films, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, The Mummy, Mummy Returns, Scorpion King, Alfred Hitchcock, Science Fiction, Mysteries, and of course the Classics.  I also loved Chariots of Fire.  I could go on and on.

Basically, I enjoy/like a film on the basis that it doesn't insult my intelligence...is interesting...and makes an effort to appeal on all sorts of different levels.
I don't have a preference for a particular genre per se, although I loathe romantic comedies....they are literally all the same!!!

Now how can you say that? That's very stereotypical! How is You've Got Mail at all similar to Shallow Hal?

(OK so I didn't like Shallow Hal but that's not the point)

Not so much. It was a bit too cheesy and I still hated the guy even at the end of the movie.

I didn't care for the movie either.  Jack Black can be either really good or terrible in the movies he has been in.  This movie received allot of criticism from several groups here in the U.S. due to its treatment of overweight people.

Well yeah I understand that... even though it was trying to say they have an inner beauty and you shouldn't judge people by how they look, there were still a heck of a lot of 'fat' jokes...
