I was lucky enough to get tickets to the ROTK premiere in Los Angeles this past Dec and I would like to post some pictures of me with the actors. Here are the links to the pics. Below them I'll tell ya a little more about it all Wink

The premiere was a blur...I won't go into great detail about it...but once I was in my seat, every LOTR actor walked down the isle, less than 10 feet away. I was speechless...except muttering & sighing to myself as Viggo & Orlando walked by while my brother was doing the same with Liv & Miranda. They were all dressed to kill. Peter gave a great speech before the film and talked a little about each actor.

At the beginning of the after-party, the first person I encountered was Orlando Bloom. But this definately was not a place for fans...it was all this high society crap, so there were few people trying to get autographs. I felt like an idiot, but did not care...all the better because there were no lines to wait in and talking with the actors was amazing! The 2 people I wanted to meet but never saw them afterwards were David Wenham and Miranda Otto...although my brother claims he accidently almost knocked her over on the way to the bathroom Shocked

<edited by Roz to make the pics show up; I'm not doctoring the story  Wink>

OMG! I am so jealous! I wonder what was wrong with Dom, he looked like he had perhaps had some encounters with some errrr.... interesting substances. Or maybe the photographer was really scary  Wink

Did you get pics with any other people?

I've got some more pics that I'm trying to scan....but I'm having a little trouble with my scanner at the moment. No more with actors...but several awesome pics of the actors on the red carpet & me in front of the theater as it was being set up.

I think Dom had a little bit too much wine that night Wink I watched him stick out his tongue when taking pics with a 7 year old kid....I just got him all buggy eyed Grin

I emailed a ton of people who had attended previous premieres and they pretty much dashed my hopes of going...said I had to have "connections" By luck, I found out the charity that was putting on the premiere, which was AFI (American Film Institue) Found their number online, called their CA office and left a message. The head lady called back and was like, "You want tickets? How many?" We were dumbfounded...and they were only $500 each! (Plus 3 airline tickets across the country to get there)

Anyways, it was much better than having to pay thousands for 2 tickets that NLC had previously auctioned off. We had ordered 2 extra for family members that were unable to go. So we put them both up on ebay at their retail price, and they ended up going for $3,000!!!  Shocked So my trip was paid for!!  Grin

Ahh....Viggo was the best!! When I was walking into the theater, I saw him jump over a fence into a crowd of fans: what a great guy! At the afterparty, he signed a picture for me and it was personalized with a heart!  Grin I'm a huge Viggo fan...I got a pic with him signing my picture, but some dumb person got their head in the way as he was bending down  Angry Oh well...I hope to someday go to a booksigning of his and get a better shot with him Cheesy

He was very down to earth and I could tell that none of the fame was going to his head...no one was really like that, except for Orlando Bloom who had like 5 body guards at the afterparty...and there were not that many people trying to talk with him. Kinda got me mad. oh well.

Yeah, Orlando is really letting fame gat to his head. Disappointing - he has potential, but if his personality is like that, he'll always be mediocre in my eyes Undecided

Viggo is a sweetheart Kiss

Thanks for confirming what I thought about Viggo.  He is my favorite as you can tell from my avatar - that is my favorite shot from all 3 films.

I saw an interview on TV with Viggo after the filming of his latest movie "Hidalgo" and he seemed very uncomfortable with all the attention he was getting from the LOTR's films.  He was very down to earth.

I am sorry to hear just the opposite about Orlando.  Sometimes fame goes to people's heads.

Yeah, and it doesn't help being devastatingly beautiful either.

That sounds pathetic Roll Eyes. Not my words, sorry. I will go now and throw things at the person responsible for that comment Grin
