That is a good turnout!!  Judging by how popular Harry Potter is over here in the States the movie should make some serious money for the studio when all is said and done.

Well folks here is what Harry Potter made in its opening here in the United States - 92.7 Million dollars!!
 Grin

This was a new opening record for the hit franchise.  The first movie took in 90.3 and the second 88.4 on their openings in the United States.  I read with interest in the article about the next Harry Potter movie - "The Goblet of Fire" - it said that this movie was going to be directed by British Director Mike Newell.

Can anyone tell me anything about him?  Has he made many films that you have seen over the years?  I do not recognize his name - sorry.   Sad

Well, I hope he does a good job.

Here's some info on Mike Newell

There are some films in there I'm sure everyone has heard of.

Yes Roz those figures are for a weekend run.  That is how numbers are given out here for a movies performance.  I do not ever remember hearing or seeing news about just a one day take for any film here.

Gee Roz you are what we call here in the States 3 for 3- that's a baseball term meaning you are batting 1000 percent - I am Oversexed, I am Overpaid, and now I am Over here on the Forum!!   Cool

Mark - thanks for the link to info about Mike Newell.  I have seen several of his films after seeing his credits!  I too hope he does the book credit.

Blading sounds so cool, maybe i should pick it up as well as archery. Then I could do them together! Imagine blading and firing arrows at random objects Grin Like a modern 'Legolas at Helm's deep with the shield' scene.

Haha! Nice one... blades are certainly a bit more modern than a good old fashioned horse!

Blading and Archery - what a combo and what a sight that would be.   Smiley  When FTY mentioned that my mind flashed back to all the cool scenes in the 3 movies with Legolas and his archery skills.  He really was awsome in the movies and played the part perfectly.

Roz - You are one cool lady!!   Cool  You always keep me on my toes!!

Roz -   You always keep me on my toes!!

But in that case I am failing! My plan is to get you on skates... many's the time I have sat with Mark looking at a very nice pair of skates reduced from last season on inlinewarehouse.com (an american skate shop) that are such a complete bargain... many's the time we have resisted emailing you asking for your shoe size and getting a pair sent to you to see what you make of them Smiley

Nope - in your part of Nottingham you'll be stabbed - and I shall be the one doing it Tongue

The shame!

I wish we could get cheap good quality skates like the ones I was talking about above here in the UK - ben these are the ones I was talking about:

http://www.inlinewarehouse.com/descpage.html?pcode=K2MV

Eddy himself uses K2 frames and these skates were $180 only a few months ago.... but I am looking towards getting a pair like this next (for me)

http://www.inlinewarehouse.com/descpage.html?pcode=SDFS

Or for Mark - actually they only have them in his size (12.5 - the largest they do!)- not mine!

Boo - finances are a tad tight at the mo so I'm going to wait til next year for a skate upgrade Smiley
