Die Hard is an excellent film......i think the movie gets better every time I watch it.  So yes, long before HP, I was a big fan of Alan Rickman.  Mike, I would recommend you check out some of his other work.

Alan Rickman had been in loads besides Potter. I resently saw 'Trueley madly deeply' for the first time not long ago which is a really good film. Also he is currently the voice Marvin the paranoid adroid in 'Hitchhikers Guide' one of my favourites is Jane Austen's Sense and sensibility (which also has Emma Thompson Wink)

I think one of my favorite Alan Rickman roles was in Robin Hood, he made an excellent Sherriff.

I liked him in Dogma too, but the first time I saw it, I thought the same thing.  It was bugging me for a long time until I figured out it was him.

There was just something on the other day with Robbie Coltrane in it, and immediately after was Sister Act, with Maggie Smith.  It was like a Potter day, without Harry Wink

It needed David Copperfield which had a very young Dan in it (and Maggie too)

I actuallys saw Robin Hood for the first time today (well not all of it) and I thought he was very good although not sure about the film as a whole. I never knew Robin Hood had been American AND a midwife  Undecided
