Wow that's a star studded cast! Do you know if you'll need to have played the first one or not? I have it but I have never got around to playing it.... Sad Time is an issue!

Story-wise, I'm not sure if you would understand some things and there certainly would be spoilers by playing it before KH and KH: Chain of Memories. Game-wise, I think you would be fine (judging from the the story line of KH: COM).

When you get the time, I recommed playing them in order. The plot is entirely worth it ... especially towards the end of the first game. If I remember correctly, I think the PS games are meant to be a trilogy ... I'm just not sure if they were actually including KH: COM in that even though it was for GBA Undecided

Aw man do you have to play chain of memories as well? I'm not a big fan of card based combat...

Yeah, do you?  I bought it for my Mom, but I don't think she ever played it.  I can borrow it from her though if you think it is necassary.

Seeing the special ending (when you complete all the side-quests) from the first Kingdom Hearts ... I think it's called Deep Dive or something like that. Anyways, it's really short, but they give a glimpse of whats to come. In there, you get a glimpse of some new characters. I'm pretty sure one of these characters is very prominent in KH: COM. Plus, there are loads of other characters (from COM) that may be mentioned in KH2. Aside from characters, they touch upon a new environment that shall be prominent in KH 2.

In my opinion, it's worth the while to play it. I also wasn't a fan of the format, but I liked the first so much that I gave it a try and got through it!

I am playing the second one now and LOVE it.  A bit dissapointed that some of the story does indeed seem to be connected to KH: COM, because I did not play that.  The game came out on PS2.  If it was necassary for you to play COM< that should have also been on the PS2.  Anyway, I stillunderstand what is going on and still am having a blast.  I only have visited the main worlds and one other fantasy world (will not say for those of you still playing), and have now moved on to my next Disney world.  Think I have been playing for 8 or so hours already too Roll Eyes

So sorry to not respond sooner.  I have played a total of 40 hours and now and think I have maybe another 10-20 to go.  I think I have been to all the worlds except the final one. It is amazing!!!!  When I play on the weekend, at 4 am I have my husband practically pulling the controller out of my hands to go to bed ROFL!

Well I finally started KHII and at the moment I am a little disappointed  Undecided.  There seems to be huge amounts of cut scenes and not much game play.  Can someone who is a bit further in let me know if this is how the whole game is - Sara I know you were really enjoying it, I just wonder if I need to give it a bit longer.  I have just got to the Mulan world.

Sorry for the late reply Sharon.  Did you give it more time?  I did notice more cut scenes in this one, but I enjoyed it just as much Wink.  There are definitely a ton of cut scenes in the beginning though, but I do think they lesson up as you go on.

Hi Sara  Grin.  Yes I am still playing and have started to enjoy it a bit more.  I think the main problem was that I have just finished Dragon Quest which is very different and I absolutely loved it.  This is a whole different kettle of fish so I am having trouble getting into it.  The one thing that is driving me crazy though is that no one has commented on the fact that King Mickey is wearing the bad guys uniform  Azn.  Still I am sure all will be explained  Smiley

BTW nice to have you back  Smiley

Thanks Cheesy

Yes, all will be explained Wink

I must say, I think I like KH1 a bit better because it was new.  There was a version put out on the gameboy that is really the "in between" of the two games on the PS2.  I never played that one, but I think it would help explain maybe a little more.

Yes I think you are right about the Gameboy one helping to explain this one.  I have the official guide and it keeps saying you didn't need to play the Gameboy one but I really do feel like I have missed something  Undecided

I know this is the wrong topic but I got my new PS2 magazine today and it had a huge article on Tomb Raider Anniversary.  It looks totally amazing  Shocked Shocked Shocked.  I think I am looking forward to this more than the new HP!

Well I am nearly at the end of KHII and I have to say I am not that keen  Undecided.  I am now only playing to increase my level for the final battle - the book says I should be a level 70 to be safe so of course I am aiming for at least a 95  ROFL!.  It just seems there has been loads and loads of cut scenes that go on forever punctuated by fights that just require you to jab at the X button continuously.

If anyone has finished this game can they let me know what I need to complete to view the extra bit at the end.  The way I read it I need to finish all of Jiminy Crickets tasks to get the bonus but I know there is no way I will clear the junk yard in under 30 swings, let alone 6  Roll Eyes
