I know you can play gameboy advance games on the DS, but what about Gameboy color?

Sorry, it's advance only. IF you want to play GBC or GB games you'll have to stick with your GBA SP. Apparently the GBA Micro will not support GBC and GB games either. Nintendo must be trying to phase them out.
