I hope Jennifer Saunders plays Rita Skeeter  Shocked i think that will be a perfect match. snotty cow, abrupt, sharp facial features, very tartyish.

I heard that the Rowan Atkinson rumour was definitely untrue, but there was the possibility that was being thrown around that John Malkovich was playing Voldemort. The roles of Diggory, Krum and Fleur Delacour have also been cast - they were announced on www.mugglenet.com

I sincerely hope that Atkinson isn't going to play Voldemort... that would ruin it for me. John Malkovitch, however, would make quite a good Dark Lord!

John Malkovitch looks drippy though, Voldermort needs sharp facial features, such as the nose and the slits, i'm sure he has tight thin lips. I don't know maybe he will act it well  Smiley

I could see Hugo Weaving maybe. Am I just mad? Undecided But JK has this thing with British actors and all... so maybe not

As for the drippy features... its wondeful what they can do with make-up and masks (is that the right word???) nowadays

I've heard that the movie will start at Hogwarts so they will be missing out the Dursleys and the Quidditch world cup! And i wanted to see the quidditch  Cry
oh and i dont think we will be meeting bill or charlie either! (well maybe charlie because of the dragons at the school, but not bill because we wont see the match or the burrow!)

I really hope that is not the case otherwise i will certainly not be a fan of the films. I am more a fan of the books anyway. The films have no detail

Its strange that they could convey so much of the LOTR books into the movies whereas with HP they couldn't do so and had about the same  amount of time. All the LOTR books are longer than any of the 3 HP books that have been made into movies as well. Maybe they need to change screenwriters... Huh

A lot has happened since June!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ralph Fiennes to play Voldemort - no comic element there!  Hope they keep the red eyes with the slit pupils!
Miranda Richardson - Rita Skeeta (she will be SUPERB!)
Frances de la Tour - Madame Maxime (I don't know if US people will know her - she's a very well known UK character actress and very funny - famously in a TV show called "Rising Damp" )
Roger Lloyd-Pack - Barty Crouch (ditto but a bloke - famously in "Only Fools and Horses" and "The Vicar of Dibley" on UK TV)
Robert Pattinson - Cedric Diggory
Clemence Poesy - Fleur Delacour

I haven't seen the guy who's been cast as Victor Krum, have you?  If so, where's the site with the photos?

The cast of the Harry Potter films is just 'gob-smacking' and totally unique.  Its a wonder there's anyone left to cast!  Its probably more impressive to UK audiences who also recognize, not only international film stars but TV actors and actresses who have been held in very great affection for decades.
