Since Halloween is over and the holidays are just around the corner, I thought it would a good idea to discuss some holiday movies. Every year, we watch some of the same movies to get the feel of the season. Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year Grin We usually watch:

A Charlie Brown Christmas
Christmas Story
Elf
Home Alone
Home Alone II, Lost in New York (we mainly watch this one)
How the Grinch Stole Christmas (cartoon version)
It's a Wondeful Life
Miracle on 34th Street (1973)
Miracle on 34th Street (1994)
The Muppet's Christmas Carol
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
The Nightmare Before Christmas
The Nutcracker Prince
The Santa Clause
The Santa Clause 2

There are some other TV ones that we watch, as well Grin But, they are different each year. I seem to always miss Rudolph and Frosty when they are on. I'll just have to buy that DVD set that they are selling one of these days Wink

Elf was just added to that list last year  ROFL!

The list just keeps building up every year for us because all the great movies they have coming out year after year for Christmas. Grin It's fun to watch Christmas movies while you are wrapping all those presents  Shocked

Don't forget that we watch the Harry Potter movies also  Mikey, they have a Christmas scene in them to  Wink

I watch the Nightmare Before Christmas, I use to watch the VHS so much its been taped about a thousand times. Thank god for DVDS Wink . Miracle on 34th Street (1994), How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Jim Carry* Verison). We liked Christmas with the Kranks so that will probably be added to are list when it comes out on the 8th

A typical UK Christmas (well in our house) on TV consists of:

The Wizard of Oz
The Sound of Music
The Great Escape
Ben Hur or Spartacus
One Carry on film, usually Carry on Screaming or Carry on Camping

Please note the total lack of Christmas films  ROFL!  Interspurse this with 20 episodes of Coronation Street and Eastenders and a Queens speech or two and this is pretty much what we watch  Grin

Christmas Story is my favorite of all time.  I actually had a Red Rider BB gun when I was a kid.  And I DIDN"T shoot my eye out!  ROFL!

I like the classics at Christmas time

It's a Wonderful Life
Holiday Inn
White Christmas
Meet Me in St. Louis(not really a 'Christmas' film, but it does have Judy Garland singing HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS).

Tallulah Bankhead told a friend that her doctor had advised her to eat an apple every time she had the urge to drink. She arched an eyebrow and added, "But really, dahlings, sixty apples a day!"
