Just went and saw the other blockbuster movie of this month - Shrek 2. I thought it was hilarious, especially Antonio Banderas as Puss in Boots. When he put on those saucer eyes, the whole audience went 'awwww' as one. Anyone else seen it and what did you think?

I can't believe you could wait this long! The only reason I didn't see it the first day it came out was because I had exams all last week . Let us know whether you liked it. I was a huge fan of the first one - classic! Keep an eye out for the LOTR spoof (among many others). So funny

Well we just got back from seeing it and it was ace. Of course it was hilarious - I laughed a lot, especially with Antonio Bandaras as Puss - very funny! But I have to say that it didn't quite have the same freshness the first one had about it - it had a distinctive sequel flavour. Apparently Shrek 3 and 4 have been announced... I hope they can find a way to inject some originality into those ones so they are as inspiring as the first! Did you know, there were a couple of voices changed for the English version from the US version? The Ugly sister was played by Jonothan Ross in the UK as opposed to some American celeb in the US. I wonder if he (she?) was someone else in Oz? FTY? There was another character replaced in the same way but I didn't catch the name. All the film references were great though... of course everyone spotted LOTR, but I think my favourite was the Spiderman one All in all I really enjoyed it though and I'll definitely get it on DVD. Talking of DVDs has anyone seen the new 'Shrek 3D' DVD that has appeared unannounced on the store shelves? I wouldn't mind seeing if that's any good - it comes with 4 pairs of 3D specs, although if that sort of thing send you nautious they also have it in plain old 2d

Hmm... not sure about the character changes. I'll check it out, though if there was one, we in Australia would have gotten the US version I think (the US version was Larry King) I agree with you that it lacked the originality of the first movie, but then you could never really get that again - I thought they did a brilliant job with what they had. My favourite reference would have to be the Zorro one - I like the fact that Antonio could take the mickey out of himself so well. I am not sure which I like better - Puss or Zorro. Puss was alot cuter I guess, though Antonio comes a very close second And Roz - I assumed we in Australia would be one of the later countries to get it... we usually are with movies It came out on the 17th here So thats an achievement for us Mark, I have seen the 3D DVD. At Universal Studios Hollywood when I went last July, they had a 'Shrek 4D' movie and the 3D clip on the DVD was the same as the one they showed at Universal - except that it lacked the 4th dimension. (4th dimension was the physical stuff, eg we got sprayed with water when Donkey spits, during the carriage ride our seats were rocking and 'spiders' suddenly crawled around our feet and head/necks - that one gave me quite a startle, I have to say ). If you have the DVD already, its not worth getting it again, but if not, its quite an amusing 15 minute clip - and its got a few other goodies as well

Roz: Mark tells me that Spiderman 2 is not showing in England for another month! I do not understand why it is not released there the same time as it is here. Anyway he said you both have tickets to see it and you will enjoy the movie as it was made by the same crew that did the first one. It has the exact same feel and sound and the story line is really good. I don't want to say anymore about the movie until you can see and enjoy it!

I dont know how she coped... pity her, for all the terrible things she has to endure!
I cannot WAIT for Spidey 2... everyone is going on about how amazing it is. Got our tickets for the 15th and I'm very excited. It's strange it wasn't given a worldwide release because Spidey 1 was. Oh and did you hear - Spidey 2 broke box office records for the amount taken on the first day - $40.1 Million I think it was. That's crazy money!

Hi Ben: I don't know about that but you can certainly see in Spiderman 2 where the next sequal is going to develop from. I would not doubt that 5 Spiderman movies will be made based on the success they are having.
