I wanted to let any gamers that haven't tried or haven't heard about Guitar Hero know how insanely awesome it is.

The game is very similar to Dance Dance Revolution and Amplitude (made by the same company as those that made Amplitude) in that it is a rythmic music game.  Instead of a controller, the game comes with an imitation guitar.  The guitar has 5 buttons at the top that act like strings as well as a simulated pick for strumming.  Notes fly across the screen and the user must hold down the correct button and strum at the right time.

Now, I have found that this game has flown under the radar a bit.  But let me tell you, everythign about it is amazing - the design, implementation, difficulty, and there are 30 actual songs from the likes of ozzy osbourne to boston to franz ferdinand.

I haven't played a more, simple, plain fun game in years.  My roomates and I purchased the game on a friday afternoon, started it up at 4pm and the game stayed on straight through till 4am.  The next morning, someone was up again at 11am and we were rocking out straight through to 2am again.

The game did recieve good reviews, as far as I found, and IGN named it runner up for game of the year.

If you have never played guitar before- fear not, even the most inexperianced player can pick it up and be rocking out in a few minutes.  Conversly, if you are an experianced player- it still presents a fun challenge.

I apologize if I sound like a representative of the company and tryign to sell their product...but this is a must buy for anyone with dreams of becoming a rockstar but not enough talent to get them there.  The price is a bit high- we split ours for 70$.  But you will absolutly get your moneys worth.  We can't put it down and often fight over taking turns.

Anyone else played?

I've got it but I haven't played it yet.  It says 2 player and I've been looking for a second controller but they don't seem to have it as a standalone accessory.  Do you simply alternate in 2 player mode or play simultaneously?

The company has not yet released standalone guitar accessories.  I'm not sure when they plan on doing so, but they definetly plan on it.  From what I understand, 2 players play simultaneously and battle off playing the same song on a split screen.  From the few accounts I have read, the multiplayer is supposed to be very exciting.

I heard this game was amazing...but how can you play split screen if it only comes with one controller?
