Anyone interested in conducting a survey of HOT BOXES?
It would be nice to have at least some idea of how many of these "wonderful" boxes have been uncovered.
It might influence one's ideas of bidding on the expensive and elusive POA factory sealed boxes that ocassionally pop up on ebay and other sites.

Is it true that there were only 20 of these boxes put into cases? Or is that just a rumor?

Oh, and how many cases of POA were put out? Was it only 500?

I think 20 is accurate John.  I know we had a few YSers who had the good fortune of getting one.  Roz would know for sure who we know found one.

I remember that Richard (MPC) found 2 and Zach (ztaylork) found one.

I wonder if anyone is sitting on some cases?

I admit to having one case and two boxes.

I would love to be sitting on some cases or boxes. I would love even more to have had a chance with one box of this set Roll Eyes

Anyways, with 500 cases does that mean that one box was inserted into every 25 cases Huh

Well, it seems that there are not a lot of reportable hotboxes from The Yak Shack. I love to think that there were 17 more hotboxes out there waiting to cause cardiac arrest.  ROFL!

That was the great thing about the hot boxes, you could tell which one was a hotbox with out opening it at all, but when you did open it (speaking from experience) it was pretty much the greatest experience ever!!!  I don't scream like a little girl a lot, but that was definetly one of those times Smiley

i am sorry but the hotboxes to me meant that others got dud boxes and that i think was very unfair. I much prefer the cards be distrubuted evenly or a evenly as artbox ever does.

Seeing as I never saw one how COULD you tell a box was a hotbox?

I haven't seen one either. But I imagine it must be pretty well bulging at the seams (I was going to say stu_ _ed, but then I remembered that there are people from Australia that read this). If so, then that may explain as well as eliminate a single hotbox being sold outside of an unopened case.
I have opened two cases back  when they were not sky high, plus about 8 boxes.

The best card that I ever pulled was a Hermione Autograph. Naturally, I had just bought one from ebay, my typical luck.

Zach would know the physical characteristics, if he recalls them.

Mac, about your point. I think that if Artbox had continued to put hotboxes at the same rate into all of the other sets it would have maintained the interest level for all of the sets.
One hotbox per 25 cases. At least then more people would get that "win-the-lottery" feeling.
Comparing POA and POAU  to SS and GOF they have, I think anyway, made some great improvements in card distribution. But nothing is perfect, right?

Yeah - bulging, and because they have the 3 lentucular cards in too they rattled. This is now common knowledge and I don't think there's likely to me many if any left out there. Dealers usually keep their breaks to themselves Wink

Olly had one too. We only ever heard about the 4.

Yes Mike, that does make them one in 25 cases.
