Anyone got this yet?  I got my copy last week and it's pretty good (so far).  Control is a little odd - you move forward, back, left and right with the D pad and rotate/aim using the touchscreen.  But it does become second nature after 10 minutes or so.  Scan mode, Morph Ball and weapon selection are activated via the touchscreen whilst the shoulder buttons take care of scanning and shooting.  It's hard holding the DS and controlling it that way - you sort of have to balance the machine on your chest!

Yep - that's exactly what I thought, I'm using the DS lite and it's even more cramped (although the screen makes it even more stunning). I think if I play for too long I might need to visit my physio for a crab like hand Wink

I think Mark was balancing his on a table top - which rather detracts from 'portable gaming' in general Wink

I haven't played this as much as I'd have expected because I'm still addicted to animal crossing, and Tetris arrived from Canada in the same package Wink

Yeah it is a bit awkward I have to admit, but it's a fun game so far. I have been a bit addicted to other games since I got it so I haven't played it as much as I'd like to have, but there's still time Smiley

I rest the DS on the edge of a table to play so you can use the stylus easily with the right hand but fire with the left. Apparently, though, the right shoulder button has some kind of alternative function though, which I'll never get to use because it's not physically possible unless you are a hand contortionist.

A friend of mine uses the thumb strap thing to play but I hate repositioning my thumb - it feels weird and you get cramps, like when playing Mario 64. Also when you want to press a button on the touch screen it's a bit tricky to see where you're pressing due to a large thumb being in the way. Still at least you can hold the DS with both hands...!

Yes my Lite arrived today after a terminally long wait.  Very nice, very nice...  And the screen is a HUGE improvement over it's predecessor.

My reaction when it first arrived was that the DS (normal) should never have been released... it feels like an exciting new bit of tech... which the DS (normal) never did. Great games, very boring looking machine Wink
