Hi All Wink Cheesy Grin,

Does anyone know when the UK release date might be for the new nintendo console as the pics I have seen look FAB!!, only confusing thing is the new controller looks like you have 2 seperate pieces one in each hand, not sure how well this will work?
Also will they still be making gamecube games untill this is released do you think as my sister has just given me her console.

Cheers

Isn't there a Zelda game coming out on the Gamecube too?

I'm going to buy it after my gamecube starts smoking ROFL! I'm pretty sure they'll come out, if its not already like this on the release, with the console with gamecube game capability. The PS2 played PS1 games Tongue

Play.com are taking pre-orders for Wii games with a release date of 25.12.06.  You can't order the console as yet - not since I last looked and that was about a week ago.  You can place an order with them for the PS3 with 3 games for a stonking £799.00!!!!!!

There's another Paper Mario game coming out for the Gamecube as well as the Zelda title but that will probably be it for the GC - rest in peace old faithful...

I have a friend who used to work for play... well as in - only just left last week for a 'proper job' Wink. I think she said that sold out of their reasonably priced PS3s in 24 hours...so started on the new 'cor blimey' price Tongue

I don't think anyone was all that impressed with the 360 at E3  Undecided and for some reason (although I thought it was a cool way to go for the new HD DVD (blue ray - you know what I mean) format) everyone seems to be turning severely against the PS3 for no obvious reason than that they don't like the controller  ROFL!

Morning All Wink Cheesy Grin,

The prices shown above for the PS3 and 3 games is in my mind just greedy,we have to blame Sony for that one they make these consoles and say how advanced it will be but how can they expect families to be able to afford such prices,I cant see it doing too well. I love gaming but the price just puts me off as we all know the price will have to fall dramaticaly if their sales want to do well.
On the flip side of this it's a good footing for Nintendo's new console as they have said all along unless im otherwise mistakened that they want to come in the other end of the market and make their's accessable to all in that I mean by keeping the price down to a reasoanble and more approachable level.
If Sony are going to be greedy it will help Nintendo out as I feel they have always kept a constant in their marketing and pricing, and as I get older I go more on gameplay than on graphics (although they help!) as whats a game that looks awesome but doesnt keep you interested? Nintendo to me have always delivered classic games that are both addictive and interesting to play and thats why I have gone back to them with the DS and GameCube and ditched my XBrick, because they have designed consoles with loads of features like the DS and utilize them to the max in their games unlike Sony with their PSP version as I did have one but felt the games on the market werent pushing the machine to its fullest.and whats the point of having a powerful hand held console if the games dont reflect the integrity of the spec and design capabilities!!.

Heres to the next generation of Nintendo Gaming!!! Cheesy Cheesy

Cheers

Yes, considering the rumoured base price for the PS3 is £425 then £799 is "cor blimey"!  Right ruddy rip-off IMHO...

As for 360, it's the only machine I'm playing a lot of at the moment.  Gears Of War looked superb and I downloaded the E3 demo of Lost Planet: Extreme Condition which is also great fun to play (bit like Starship Troopers - giant bugs vs solo soldier with machine guns and rocket launchers).  Battlefield 2 is my current weapon of choice  Grin

I don't know what the game is with Sony.  I saw the controller demo on Youtube and I laughed my socks off - the guy was flailing all over the place.  I think they've just ripped the idea from Nintendo although the technology is different.  I also read that the 20GB PS3 won't even go on sale in the UK and seeing as it lacks Wi-Fi, router status and HDMI output I can't see the point of that version anyway.  I guess the thinking is that so few people have HD tellies that some gamers won't care for the graphical acoutrements.  But forcing the super expensive bells and whistles version is hugely unfair particularly if you don't have the extra hardware to take advantage of the additional horsepower.

And besides what can PS3 realistically offer other than better looking versions of existing games?  You can level the same argument at the 360 of course but some franchises on that system are still fairly young.  How many versions of Final Fantasy, Ridge Racer, MGS and Gran Turismo have we had already?  What can the PS3 versions offer over their predecessors?

Morning All Wink Cheesy Grin

Very true words said on last thread, call me old at nearly 30  ROFL! ROFL! ROFL! but Sony just seem to rely on their older games revamped for their new console to help sell,at least Nintendo seem to have a good team of game designers and bring out new games aswell as very well updated versions of their flagship oldies like Mario.
The games industry seems to be going backwards in way of what games they release and some companies seem to be lacking in imagination for new wholesome games, personaly I have never owned a Sony console apart from a brief ownership of a psp but their games just to me lack gameplay and purely concentrate on graphical indurance.

Cheers
