This seller is claiming that a POA retail pack is a hot pack (for those unfamiliar with the terminology, a hot pack has an auto, costume or prop inside). He states that it could contain an auto or "other rares," because a friend pulled some from this set. He is WRONG. POA retail packs have only base cards and foils. I wrote to explain this to him, and he told me to "mind my own business." Obviously, he's trying to pass off a cheap retail pack as something more. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=102250423860

Yeah, his friend has five from the set, but from hobby packs. And the title makes it sound like it s a guaranteed pack. Maybe we should all write to him

I hate auctions like this. My concern is that we have a lot of new members who are also new to collecting HP cards, and I didn't want anyone here to get suckered in.

That is ridiculous. If he knew what he was talking about, he would try to explain it to you in hopes to make a sale. The truth is that he knows he is wrong.

The item has now been removed. Cindy, that was an amazingly rude response he sent you...not a seller I would want to buy ANYTHING from. And if he "nos" what he's talking about, he would "no" how to spell.

I wrote to him because I thought he might have made an honest mistake. There are so many different HP releases, hobby and retail, that's it's easy to get confused. POA retail had only foil inserts, while POAU retail had two costume cards. Then there's the POA foil set produced by Cards Inc. Like I said, it would be easy to get confused. The seller was rude because he got caught. I'm sure that all of the complaints in such a short period of time prompted eBay to move quickly.

Well, as soon as you posted it I went looking on ebay and sure enough after looking through their maze of menus I found the thing about Deceptive, etc. and sent them a message. Kelly no doubt was doing the same thing. So a lot of rapid fire complaints doomed it. That kind of garbage is totally unacceptable and his attitude endeared me to him even more...NOT! I see that the seller is in the UK so I imagine you Uk-ers could have rounded up an angry mob and marched on him if ebay hadn't taken action.

I missed the action so I don't know who the seller was, but I bought an ornamental pitchfolk yesterday with plans to use it as a curtain rail in the shed, but I can always use it for my "Angry Mob" supplies if necessary

This whole thing with this seller angers me incredibly as it seems villans are infiltrating in every catogory and as the site grows ever more it seems that many more people will unfortunatly get stung, although if they do get caught they can be banned it doesnt stop them setting back up under a different user name and email addy etc... as have seen a few do this in other regions of the site and have reported but it seems its slightly out of control, need to start thinking about trying to combat this more heavily and have more bods scanning the thousands of auctions to save people from this venus fly trap of deception and entrapping and most inpotantly claiming money by deception with fraudulant or ill appropriated listings!!! Cheers Paul
