Ok so I'm new I still didn't see this thread so I thought I would start one. You can often tell a fair bit about a person by what they read, so when you read something come and tell us what it is and if it's any good. Basically I'm just being nosey but there you are. My comic reading is very eclectic, I think the last thing I read was 52 weeks issue 5, I got board with that..

I have to admit I don't read that much in the way of comics.  I can never figure out what ones I want to read and if I find one that looks good its normally number 7 and they don't have the first ones!

Having said that, I've been reading the latest Elfquest series.  It's quite good, but I'm a little disappointed that its only four issues cos it means that the story isn't that well developed (IMHO).  I'm really looking forward to the Laurell K Hamilton comics that should be starting soon.

Can anyone recommend any comics?

I'm reading the original Spiderman comics from the very beginning Grin (in reprint... I'm not the Queen!)

You can often tell a fair bit about a person by what they read.

You can also tell a lot about a person from their tea leaves. Would you like me to post a pic of my tea dregs?

I'm rereading some good ole' classical Alan Moore and Frank Miller stuff, as well as dredging out some old original X-Men issues I got off of eBay (okay, admittedly, the original 1960s copy of X-Men 17 I got is only in fair shape, but I also only paid $8 for it, and nothing beats cracking open a classic comic to enjoy and read).

Hi All,

I am currently reading Mouse Guard by David Peterson published by Archaia Studios Press and I HIGHLY recommend it. Here's a link to the Mouse Guard site for more info and pics:

http://www.davidpetersen.net/mouseguard/mouseguardthumb.htm

The art is AMAZING and the story is really good too. Check it out if you can find it. I'm eagerly awaiting issue 4 which is due out next month (its bimonthly).

Best Wishes,
Paul

Morning All Wink Cheesy Grin

I am new to reading comics used to read a few when I was younger, then started again a few years back and collected some of the battle of the planets comics.
Then about 2 months ago started again and am now currently reading Marvel's exciting Civil War ,Frontline.Fantastic Four tie in to Civil War,Amazing Spiderman Civil War tie in.
Also reading the following:

The Justice League Of America - New DC Comic
Wonder Woman - New DC Comic
All Star Superman - This is an amzing story and consists of 12 issues currently on issue # 5
All Star Batman And Robin - Again excellent read.
Ghost Rider - New MArvel Series
Fantastic Four- !st Family - This was a story over 6 comics of how they became who they are.
Battlestar Galactica - New comic with untold stories between season 1 and 2 of the new tv series.

Now just trying to find a shop in the Uk that sells comic boxes with low postage,as i saw some that were like drawers and are based in Usa but shipping is off the scale.
Also some decent comic sleeves like mylar's or something just as good please if anyone can advise please let me know.

Many Thanks

Paul

As usual with comic and card supplies you are going to struggle in the UK Paul.  Your best bet would be a show but I know you can't get to them at the moment.  Other than that you could try Forbidden Planet - you will definitely get the bits there, but at a price.

I have to admit I did start putting all of my comics in Mylars but it just got silly - the price and extra space they take are ridiculous.  All of my comics are just in the normal long comic boxes and are fine.  The way I look at it my comics will never be mint as I have read them, so I just make sure they are flat and the corners aren't bent over.

There is a shop that has just opened in Romford (they used to be at Barking).  I will ask Boggy if they sell boxes/sleeves as this may not be too far for you to get to (it is right next to the station).

I am addicted to Fables and Y: The Last Man

Both are very very good. Worth picking up the first trade paperback and giving em a shot!

Ed (van Halen - forum ID)  mentioned that there's a spiffy comic book shop in London that he recommends... I wish I could remember the name of it though - I'll ask him on MSN Smiley

You could allways try the comic Marts at the Royal National Hotel, Bedford Way in London WC1, thats where I got mine a while back.  I believe that there is one on the 17th of this month.

Don't quote me on this but I think they have moved the shows from the Royal National to just round the corner - I am sure Boggy said the last one was at a different venue but I am not sure if that was just a one off or a permanent thing.
