All of 'em! Well most of them. All the ones I watched Smiley

I liked Danger Mouse, Jamie and the Magic Torch, Around the World in 80 Days and Thundercats... but my favourite has to be...... The Mysterious Cities Of Gold! Yay!

Hey guys:

I know this topic is for cartoons of the 80's but have you ever seen any from the 60's or 70's?  When I was growing up I really enjoyed "Johnny Quest".  Have you ever heard of this one?

Another favorite was "Space Ghost" and "The Herculoids".  Also "Spiderman", "Ironman", and several other Marvel superheroes.  Who could ever forget "Fireball XL5" or "The Thunderbirds" - these last two were puppet animations.

I'm afraid to say I've never actually seen any of those apart from Thunderbirds (and I know the music from Spiderman quite well!)

Oh Boy - I am really showing my age!!   Embarrassed  "Johnny Quest" was about a scientist Dr. Quest, his bodyguard Race Bannon, his son Johnny, and adopted son Hagii plus bandit their dog.  Dr. Quest worked on all sorts of secret government projects and the series was on for several years with really great storylines and graphics.
If I ever see this out on DVD I will pick it up and send it over so you can see for yourself.

Mark can you view Region 1 DVD's on your Playstation 2?

Yes, we watch the widescreen TT LOTR doscs you found us on Mark's PS2.

Ed I am SURE I remember a spiderman cartoon but the colours were quite vivid so I am not sure it could have been from the 70s. Was there another spiderman toon done later - say mid 80s?

Hi Roz:

Yes there a Spiderman toon in the 80's.

Mark:

I found an auction on eBay for all 26 episodes of Johnny Quest on DVD.  The Seller says in his auction there are no cases or artwork which is strange unless this is a used set.  I am awaiting a reply to several questions I poised to him.  This was the only DVD set I found on eBay so I don't know how widely distributed they are.  I must do more research and will get back to you.

Sounds cool.... weird about the artwork thogh... maybe it's a 'home brew' set recorded from TV or something?

Hi Mark:

I don't know.  I have not seen Johnny Quest on regular TV for years but it is very possible he took them off a cable channel.

Johnny Q has just come out on DVD I believe, in the States at least. Big news this week is that Battle of the Planets is out in a full-series boxset!

Hi Ed:

Welcome back and congrats on finishing your exams!!  Smiley  You are correct about Johnny Quest just coming out on DVD.  I checked my DVD Club I belong to and they just listed it as available.

Have you ever seen any Johnny Quest episodes?

Well if I can obtain a set of the Johnny Quest DVD's I told Mark & Roz I would send them over so they can watch them.  They then can send them on to you for your viewing pleasure and you can send them back to me when you are finished.  I will keep all of you posted about this.   Smiley

I know Mark & Roz can view Region 1 DVD's.  Can you do so Ed?
