Mark recently bought this massive compendium thingy with all the comics in but it's not light reading ROFL! - it's a lovely book though, I haven't had time to read it yet Grin

Great Brit alternative Wink we bought ours from amazon.co.uk - it's so heavy parcelforce sent the parcel in a bag to make it easier to carry.

I was googling for C&H and found the above cartoon because yesterday, when I ventured into the Zoology department here and they had a C&H comic up on the graduate noticeboard.

I apologise for the quality of the pic, I took it on my phone. I don't really approve of taking pics on phones because they are so rubbish, but 'needs must' to coin a phrase Wink

Caffeine addiction? This is something completely lost on grad students and computer programmers ROFL! (NOT)

Mark thinks that the Graduate Noticeboard comic was one the department made up themselves Sad

I'm going to scour the compendium to try to prove him wrong (his argumentbegins with the approach that it's only 2 frames long and C&H comics are usually longer) Sad

Fab!

What about this?

   0.9999... = 1

   Thus     x = 0.9999...
          10x = 9.9999...
      10x - x = 9.9999... - 0.9999...
           9x = 9
            x = 1.

LOL.  Don't even get me started on Math.  The Calvin and Hobbes Cartoon (One of my all-time favorites by the way) reminded me of a "Philosophy of Mathematics" class I took a few semesters ago.

It's bad enough doing calc proofs, but imagine trying to prove that 1 + 1 = 2  or just imagine proving the number 2 period.

I hate math.....sigh..........bring on the biochem

It's not made up.  I've definitely seen it before.
Does Mark honestly believe that students would go out of their way to make the lettering look authentic?

I found that comic on one of the office doors in my uni building as well. So unless it's a devious cross-university plot, I daresay it's an original Calvin and Hobbes.

Sorry to destroy Mark's conspiracy plot Wink
