Yeah I'm looking forward to that Grin

ITV were showing clips of it mixed in with their previews of what we can expect this winter... but why? It's a movie it should be in the cinema and not on ITV so soon - Huh any ideas what's going on?

USA 30 April 2006 (Tribeca Film Festival)
France 18 May 2006 (Cannes Film Market)
Russia 1 July 2006 (Moscow Film Festival)
UK 25 August 2006 (Edinburgh Film Festival)
USA 13 October 2006 (limited)
Australia 26 December 2006

Those are the release dates, I don't know why it is on ITV all I can think of it is a ITV production made for Film Festival and ITV, & like it was mentioned in the news ITV want to boost there ratings and stay away from as I would say "predictable rubish" so maybe there focusing on "Mini" films

I don't think that's the release dates Martyn, but preview dates at Festivals. I think the American release is October sometime.

I son't think it is released in cinema's in the UK. It's on the ITV Winter schedule so as ITV have a preview in "Whats coming in Winter" it means it will be shown on ITV and not in cinema's

As there has been on adverts for it on National Television just ITV adverts

Nope its a film

"Celebrate the release of Driving Lessons and win a pampering weekend
Driving Lessons is a quirky and heart-warming comedy which sees Ben (Rupert Grint) as a shy, poetry writing London teenager trying to escape from the clutches of his religious mother (Laura Linney).

He finally gets his chance when he meets retired actress Evie (Julie Walters) who whisks him off to Edinburgh, learning along the way to drive, dance and pick up girls.

Directed by Jeremy Brock, this loosely autobiographical coming-of-age tale centres on two unlikely friends and a journey of self discovery.

Driving Lessons will be in cinemas nationwide on Friday 8th September."

It is a film but not a general release! Meaning it wasn't made by a Hollywood company, me thinking it was made by ITV as if you go to the Venues button on the Offical site it lists the 3 days

8th, 22nd and 29th of September and lists the places it is shown. Correct me if i'm wrong but none of the big conema's are no there like Odeon, Cineworld, Vue etc

The closest cinema to me is the Tyneside Newcastle which shows "Low budget" etc films that will appear on TV soon later!

Yes I have just looked at that, it seems to me like its small older cinemas (whats left of them) or theatres by the looks of the names. It all seems a bit odd. So are they going to show it on ITV after those three dates?

Well as ITV have already started showing some programs that where advertised in the same trailer as Driving Lessons (E.g Life Begins) they could show it after those dates or anywhere up til Xmas.

The BBC have a report on it (Which you can watch on there website) and they call it a "Low budget Drama"

I'm gutted - all the picture houses have it except my local one... the only other chance for me is Genesis Cinema (where I can charm my way in free ROFL! - but it will cost me a bit of money and a lot of time to get to London).

Let's hope so - Julie Walters and Rupert Grint have been all over the press and TV publicising it and yet it's so difficult to go and see in the cinema - it's really vexing!

Did you see the report where an 18 year old male guest at a party thrown for Rupert's birthday was arrested for sexual assault of a minor?  Poor Rupert said he was horrified when he found out about the incident.

Poor guy, can't even go to something as innocent as a birthday party without someone causing horrible trouble.
