Apparently somewhere in New Zealand there is a low frequency humming noise which is driving some people crazy. Only a few people can hear it, and they cannot work out what the noise is coming from. Some scientists have made a simulation of the sound, and Im curious to see who can hear it, and who cant... http://www.smh.com.au/audio/hum.mp3I needed to turn the volume right up (im in a noisy room) but I can hear it And if it was me, that sound would definately drive me nuts.

I think we've all arrived at a very special place. Spiritually, acumenically, grammatically.

Quote: Although 56hz is within the standard range of human hearing - which can range from 20 to 20,000hz - it is too low for most people to pick up
so dont feel bad if you cant hear it. its a strange sound, very low, and it rises and falls...
the other thing you can do if you cant hear it is to play it in Windows media player, and watch the soundwaves instead.

Over here they have come up with things that actually make annoying noises, but only young people are supposed to be able to hear it, meaning its used to keep youngsters from gathering in various places.
Does age have anything to do with those who can hear it or can? I would try but I'm not alone and if my mum hears it she'll moan.

Great they have turned it to their advantage, still at least it shows they do have some brains in there somewhere. I would hate to be a teacher today, especially with the older kids.

Well I had to have the volume nearly on full but that could just be my speakers . It reminded me of the noise the Cylons make, you know when their red eye moves backwards and forwards
