My son, the Super Mario expert, can't unlock it, either. But, Google is great! I've read on several sites that you need to defeat the boss in the last castle of World 2 as Mini Mario. Please let me know if this works!

Simply - make sure you are Mini Mario for the boss at the end of world 2, you'll drop into the little hole in the floor when you beat the boss and hey presto you'll be in world 4.

At the second section of the last level (near the end of world 2) there's a mini mushroom. Get that and then continue as mini Mario.
It does work Cindy, there's a hole in the floor that you'll drop into and go a separate path if you are mini mario.

How does Mini Mario defeat the boss? My son said he wasn't able to get a fire flower when he played as Mini Mario.

You have to do ground pound jumps (down and B if i remember correctly) on his head to inflict damage.

Bobby says it's "down and A." He's grinning ear to ear right now and getting ready to play the game. Thanks, Roz!

It has been a while Love the new avatar Cindy! Great game though. I haven't touched my DS in months and months, but picked it up again today to get me through the boredom of flu... between sleeps and feeling wretched

Oh no! I hope you're feeling better soon. Perhaps it'll cheer you a bit to know that a little boy on the other side of the Atlantic is extremely happy that your tips are now allowing him to play a previously locked part of his favorite game. Yeah, it was time to give ol' Snape a rest. I have a couple of good Christmas avatars ready to go after Thanksgiving.

Mmm so many good games! If you like adventure games there's the phoenix wright games, or Touch Detective which is a lot of good clean family fun. Coming soon is the new Kirby game which is a really fun platformer. I've finished the Japanese version of it. It's awesome!
