Hi guys Has anyone else been watching the new Robin Hood on BBC on a Saturday early eve? (Repeated ad infinitum later in the week on BBC Freview channels?) I'm really enjoying it so far, Robin's the perfect balance of cheeky smile and wronged man without being too cheesy, the Sheriff is just perfect, a totally wonderful baddy and Marion is so lovely too. Is it just me, (and his accent perhaps?) but the guy who plays Guy of Gisbon reminds me so much of Sean Bean, mostly in accent and mannerisms, not in looks Just brill so far

I am . But it has been getting such a slating in the press I didn't want to be the first to admit it . I wish the critics would watch it for what it is - a light hearted romp where the goody's win and the baddies fall in pig slops Is it just me, (and his accent perhaps?) but the guy who plays Guy of Gisbon reminds me so much of Sean Bean, mostly in accent and mannerisms, not in looks That's it . I knew he reminded me of someone but couldn't put my finger on it. The other one that was driving me mad was Much but I Googled him and found out he was the demon disguised as a priest from Hex . The only silly one so far has been the Djak (?) episode. How on earth all those merry men could have thought she was a boy with those boobs is beyond me

Yay! I am not alone Hey - each week how long does it take you to stop going around the house humming the theme tune? For me it's a good few days I wish the critics would watch it for what it is - a light hearted romp where the goody's win and the baddies fall in pig slops Yeahhhhh just good fun Robin is a cross between Gimli and Legolas if you can imagine that cheeky, short, active and good with a bow. Is it just me, (and his accent perhaps?) but the guy who plays Guy of Gisbon reminds me so much of Sean Bean, mostly in accent and mannerisms, not in looks That's it . I knew he reminded me of someone but couldn't put my finger on it. The other one that was driving me mad was Much but I Googled him and found out he was the demon disguised as a priest from Hex . That went RIGHT over my head You just have to love the sherrif (that's in between hating him of course). The only silly one so far has been the Djak (?) episode. How on earth all those merry men could have thought she was a boy with those boobs is beyond me Yeah... and the not-so-convincing voice

Oooo you are in for a treat . Some of the episodes are a bit silly but stick with it, there are some classic moments . But don't get to fond of Robin and the Merry Men - the BBC have said they will only make one more series .

Watched the second show "Sheriff got your tongue" which introduces Little John and his men. I really like the show! Sharon: Why do you think the BBC is only going to make one more series? Is the show popular where you are?

Is the show popular where you are? Yes this was very popular which is why the BBC have axed it . Because of the way the BBC is funded they are supposed to produce very high standard programmes. Unfortunately some of the top bods at the Beeb think that if a programme is popular it means it is not good quality. We are fortunate they spent so much building the sets otherwise we wouldn't even have a second series. You need to remember the BBC is the same channel that scrapped Dr Who many years ago even though it was the most popular show on - it still makes the BBC millions every year. But I am so pleased you are enjoying it . Good, harmless, family fun with a spot of clever dialogue

Thanks for the info Sharon! Gee those head honchos at the BBC should be fired for very poor decision making on both Dr. Who and Robin Hood! Thanks to you and Roz for alerting us to this show!

And I defy you to be able to get the theme tune out of your head, it revolves around in mine for days after each ep

Watched the next episode. I'll tell you what - if I was ole Robin Hood I would have done a "Legolas" on the Sheriff by now!! You ask - what is a "Legolas"? A "Legolas" is shooting an arrow right into your opponents forehead like he did in Balin's Tomb to the Orcs!! This Sheriff is one of those characters you love to hate!! But on the other hand if Robin did "Legolas" him there would be no show!!

Ah as the series goes on you will find out why Robin won't go all Legolas on us . I hope they start repeating this in the UK soon, you have made me want to re-watch it Ed

I'd love to be watching this show. I keep thinking I'll remember to record it (we don't have regular TV/cable) at my parents house but I've been too busy to get down there and do it. This weekend...for sure.

I have really enjoyed watching this show, although I was just floored by the season 2 finale...and what happened to Marion. I read they were filming a third season, but have been really wondering how they will move on after that season 2 finale. It's sad to see Jonas leave...he was/is the perfect Robin. Wonder if the show will even carry on post-Jonas.

It IS sad to see Jonas leave, but since they did something awful
AMERICANS LOOK AWAY NOW IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE END OF SERIES 2
* * * * * * Killed off Maid Marion * * * * * * * at the end of the last series, where does the series really have left to explore? Especially after one more series.

Exactly. How on earth can you have Robin without Maid Marion? I love the series, but that decision was just baffling.

I finally got to see this show thanks to my local video store getting the DVD's and I have to say that I am enjoying it I am now patiently waiting for season 2 since I finally saw all of season 1. I like the Sheriff as a bad guy because they do such a great job writing him, but I find Gisborne tends to get on my nerves with all his pining after Marion. I also don't know how it happens all the time but yet again I find myself liking a secondary character (Allan A Dale:I hope they show more of him in season 2 because I felt cheated on the episode about his brother) better then the main character (Robin Hood:even though I still do like him just not as much) of the show
