Whoo Hoo! And OUCH at the price... $34.99 US for the hardcover & $65.00 for the deluxe hardcover
Amazon.com already has it listed at $18.89 US so that's a relief...

Can anyone imagine how hard it will be for the publishers to keep a lid on the ending? There were so many leaks with OOTP and HBP. Once this book hits the printers, I'm going to be afraid to go on the Internet.

If I read a spoiler AT ALL before I get to read it on 21 July I'm going to be HIGHLY upset... Looks like I'll be heading out to a bookstore first thing on that Saturday as I did with HP6 - I was the only customer right when they opened Got to start reading it right away too!

Now that's dedication! I stayed off all HP sites, except this one, for a month prior to the HBP release. We had an embargo here for 24 hours or so after the UK release, with warnings of dire consequences (i.e. a good thwacking with the CatCF long grass prop) should anyone post info beforehand.

WooHoo!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited...and a little nervous...and a little sad, actually. It's a strange mix of emotions. Well, one thing I wasn't hesitant about--I reserved a copy with my town Barnes and Noble as soon as I heard. They said they are going to have another Midnight Magic party as well! I am staying away from everything, except this site, of course, until I have finished the book. I don't want to know the ending in advance...although it will be difficult to wait on one main part--does Harry live or die. Let the countdown (and speculation) begin!.

And judging by the pictures of Daniel Racliffe in the papers yesterday, they're gonna have to get a new actor when they make the film of book 7...

There she goes again! All the rumours about a 7/7/7 release date proved wrong, did she pick a random date just to do that ?..I'm very excited with this too, i'm going to the local Borders midnight party. For HBP i had to make a 3-hrs-long queue but it was so worth it, seriously it was like a New Year's party, countdown and everything and about 700 people everyone wearing HP costumes and discussing the books. I'm looking forward to that night and I'm gonna miss that so much . LOL Geek boy. I don't think WB will risk their HP franchise by getting a new Harry Potter. They'll just have to make a deal with a razor company or sign a contract with Nair

Actually, I was thinking this morning that they could film books 6 and 7 back to back like they did with LOTR and Pirates Of The Caribbean. Release film 6 in time for Xmas 2008 and film 7 either summer or Christmas 2009? That would get around the problem of any major change in appearance during the gaps between filming thus far.

I think the reason they didn't film that way is because the kids didn't want to miss an entire year in their regular schools. Now that they're older, that may not be an issue anymore.

Wal-Mart now has the book for the pre-order price of $17.27 plus 97 cents shipping. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but while Amazon had OOTP and HBP delivered the same day as the release, Wal-Mart didn't. Still, it's the cheapest price so far.

"Final Potter Book Goes Easy on the Trees" http://www.accessatlanta.com/entertainment/content/shared-gen/ap/Other_Entertainment/Books_Green_Potter.htmlHere's a snippet... "NEW YORK — The printing for the final Harry Potter book will not only be the biggest, but also the greenest. Scholastic Inc. announced Tuesday that it had agreed with the Rainforest Alliance, a conservation organization that works with the business community, on tightened environmental standards for "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," coming out July 21 with a first printing of 12 million. J.K. Rowling's seventh Potter book will be a hulking 784 pages, Scholastic said, a comparable length to the last couple of Potter releases."

I am so glad to hear that it's a long one! I was hoping that the last book would be one that I could read slowly and not feel as though I'm coming to the end of it too soon! Usually, I fly through books, but I am determined to enjoy this final Harry Potter book...just keep me away from the spoilers!

I'm with you Bitsy! I usually rip through books as well! But I'll try to go at a snail's pace with this one I forgot that the OoTP movie is released on July 13th as well... so many Potter goodies in the one month!

I sincerely hope that this friend of yours likes trips to the park with a thermos of hot water to make tea and sit and read... or likes evenings on cosy sofas by the fire with hot choc to sit and read more
