Very happy to see and hear that you are ok!!  My God Jason that must have been very scary!!   Shocked  I know exactly what you mean by looking at life differently.  I had a few near death situations both in and out of the Marine Corps and look at what is important and not in life these days.

The little one looks great!!  Take care of yourself my friend!   Smiley

Good to see you back Jason - I see what you mean about the 'little' one being not-so-little anymore!!  Kiss Wink
Fingers crossed you don't have any repeats of your awful health scares either ... it all sounded dreadful!  Sad

Hi Jase, glad to hear you are back safe and sound!

I've never been to Brissie, but I'll see if I can get in touch with an old flatmate who dives quite a bit... not 100% if he went to Queensland though (probably did Wink)

Your bub is adorable! Cheesy

Hey Jase, hope you've found a bit more info about possible diving spots. My flatmate hasn't actually been diving in  Queensland (yet!) so sorry I can't help you there.

Also you can have a look here for some possible ideas: http://www.smh.com.au/travel/australia/surfing-diving/
Fraser Island is apparently very nice, but quite touristy... if you like that kind of thing. Problem is, its a long way from Brissie, so you'd probably need a few days rather than you one Sad Hope it's helpful!

PS. Hope you are feeling alot better and all is well with the bub Cheesy

Not to make it worse...but Im discovering this week the NZ is absolutely amazing...

Unfortunately no ferry between Aus and NZ...buts its a pretty short plane trip (only three hours from Melbourne; thats less than flying east to west across Aus)

Anyway, good to see you round the forum!  Grin

What a coincidence!

A few of my friends have planned a trip up to Queensland between the 18-24th July! I was going to go with them but work commitments have come up Tongue what a pity as it would have coincided with your trip perfectly.

Glad to hear you and your family are well Jas!

Roz - 3 hours is peanuts when you're talking about flight time in Australia. You'd have to fly at least 6 hours to get to another country Undecided

PS. when Ed mentions "safe" he means watch out for the drop bears Wink ROFL! (sorry, Aussie in-joke)

Yeah, I was talking about this with a pal the other day... he says in Aus you get in a plane, travel for 3 hours and then you get out and not only do the people speak the same language but they also have the same accent Wink.

They say in some parts of the UK you can travel just 2 miles for a new accent Wink
