I'm sorry to anyone on dialup but this is worth the wait. My amazing girlfriend, the lovely Roz, commissioned this amazing piece of artwork by the talented Mr Warren Martineck for my birthday. Isn't she just the best girlfriend ever?

You bet I am! I've already written to a framer with a few questions and it turns out they are on the way to work so it shouldn't be too inconvenient getting it either!

EDIT:
Just a couple of questions - I wonder if anyone knows the answer to these?
1. The frame guy says that the frame comes with acrylic glazing. Is this comparable to glass or should I tell him to leave it out and contact a glazier separately?
2. He says he's never heard of acid-free glass. Is acid something that glass has or is it just plastics and papers? If I'm going to use a mount to mask the edges, I take it it's important that that's acid-free.

Thanks guys!

I don't know about acrylic glass, but I get archival quality glass from my framer which means it keeps out the harmful light that will fade and damage your artwork.  Acid free referrs to the material used to mat your art, not the glass itself.  Use only acid free mat board and tape.  It might be called rag board, I can't remember.  That way your art won't yellow with age.
Awesome gift!

What a lovely gift to recieve, that is super  Grin  Way to go Roz  Grin
Now as for the next question LOL & this is just personal choice
All of our stuff is done with the Acryllic it is lighter than glass and also keeps the posters/Cards free from acid.  If you use a profesional framer then all there stuff should be acid free. I have everything from signed posters to full uncut sheet of the witchblade card set framed along with sketches of most of the Dr's and Babe Ruth LOL & a cut out of Shi  Grin

It's a great gift.
The only question I have is why is Ben Affleck the Sandman.  I thought it was Thomas Hayden Church who played him in the film.  Grin

I'm very glad you approve, but my part in the job was really very simple. It's all down to Mr M. He's a genius. He totally saved the day.

I love it... now I need to sneak into Mark's place at night and steal it... hanging it on my wall might be a bit of a giveaway though... perhaps I'll just have to get back in touch with Mr M myself Wink

It's 26.3cm x 38.8cm of hand inked glory! Although that's an approximation as neither the picture or the paper are exactly rectangular (yes I was surprised too!). Nothing so far out that it's going to be a problem framing though. Phew!

Rup, you are quite right, yet another amazing parcel from Mr M.

It's 26.3cm x 38.8cm of hand inked glory!

Since it came from America-shire it probably would have made more sense in inches Tongue
