I picked it up at 9:15 AM & finished it by 3PM...

I cried - scared the cats... was surprised by how many deaths there were - but it WAS a battle after all...

Loved so many tie-ins with previous books - both events & characters...

WOW!

I'll have to read it again later this week after it sinks in & I've read more comments, reviews, and articles...

I'm not nearly as sad that it's the last book as I thought I'd be really which astonishes me...

Bless him, it will take him a good couple of weeks to read it - you have NO idea how hard it's going to be for me and the young jedi not to say too much within his earshot as neither of us wants to spoil it for him! Undecided
I started reading at 1am and read till 4am ... went to bed and slept in late (YAY!!) and picked the book back up around 2pm ... food and potty break around 7pm for half an hour or so and then finished reading around 9.15pm.
I didn't rush reading it either, so I might sit back down and re-read tomorrow it so I can absorb all the details I might have missed reading it today.  Wink Grin

Just finished it - thankfully it rained all day yesterday so I didn't go out and managed to read most of the day instead.

Wow.  Just brilliant.  Couldn't put it down.  Can't wait to see the film  Grin

I've started a post-DH specific thread here:
http://www.theyakshack.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,5415.0/topicseen.html

I wasn't sure if this was what Graham intended to do with this thread or whether he just wanted to chivvy everyone along Wink but just to be on the safe side...

Finished it about half an hour ago, despite the mother in law coming for Sunday lunch. I feel drained and both happy and sad. Glad so many things were explained, can't wait for the film.

Just finished; had to squeeze it in around a heap of other things....teaching high school kids at the moment, so needed to finish it before anyone spoilt it for me!

I purchased two copies - one for my wife and one for me!  We both finished and thought it was one outstanding book!   Smiley  I loved all the tie ins and the Epilogue.  Plenty of room if JKR wants to pick up the storyline in the future.   Praying

So come on, who else has finished the book?  I can't wait to hear some more theories on what actually happened  Grin.  And for all you slow coach readers I would like to point out that my mother (who is advancing in years) has ploughed through the first four books in just over two weeks and is currently knee deep in the OotP  ROFL!  At this rate I am going to have to surrender The Half Blood Prince which is currently by my bed begging to be re-read  Wink

I have a question...

What happened to Stan Shunpike? He was flying as a death eater while under their control, I know. But, what happened to him?

If I missed it, let me know...this all happened right around Hedwig's death and I got a little sidetracked.  Sad

Wasn't Stan under the Imperious Curse at one stage  Undecided.  If he survived the final battle he probably just went back to the night bus and picked his pimples  Lips Sealed Grin

Yes, he was under the Imperious Curse...I remember Harry didn't want to hit him with a spell of any kind because he would fall to his death. I was just wondering what happened to him after that attack on Harry and the Order...did the Death Eaters continue to keep him under their control? Did they (I hope not) kill him? Maybe we'll find out in the Encyclopedia.  Wink

I'm hoping you are right, Sharon, and Stan went back to the Knight Bus and... Lips Sealed...popping pimples.  Wink

I didn't want to start a new topic just for this, but have a peek at the JKR website.  The wizard of the month is Harry and the spoiler tells a tiny bit more about his future career  Grin
