Metallic ink is fine!  It's a nice touch. Smiley

I'm not aiming this at anyone in particular, but this is just a reminder that if anyone wishes to buy, trade, or post eBay auction links for HP items, please do so in the Diagon Alley board (we also have other trade/sell boards in the LOTR and general trading card sections).  These boards exist so that the regular discussion threads don't get clogged up with requests to buy, sell, or trade items.

maybe some closeups of the whole page would be nice to refer back to at some stage for my own one maybe

sorry harrymad, no close ups. The articles are all either made up my me or taken from the book or film as most of the articles in the real prop don't always make sense...more so in the later DP's then the earlier ones....so no close ups really necessary as you could write your own articles Wink

That's a super DP you've done there MuggleMum, thank you VERY much for sharing it with us ... nice use of the watermarking too!!!  Wink
I think it fair to say that that particular prop is a favourite with many of the Forum members (myself included), which is probably a good thing considering how many swatches we've had from it in the various Potter card sets!! Roll Eyes Tongue

harrymad08 - take your time and post a pic of your prop when you're ready as I'm sure it will be well worth the wait. Wink

Totally agree! The DP's are some of the best props. I always try to get one from every set (except COS, which was one of the really expensive incentives.  Roll Eyes).

One of the most amazing things about Mugglemum's prop replica is that you can actually read the articles! It's so much fun! I actually felt like a real wizard when my "owl" post delivered my paper.  Wink Smiley

Yes, harrymad08-just post your pics as you complete them--I know all of us Harry Potter fans are very much looking forward to seeing everyone's creations.  Smiley

Oh the fun you could have writing the articles for that prop!! ROFL!
Just a thought here ... it's a real pity that our boring muggle photgraphs don't move like they do in the wizarding world and maybe the way to replicate the main photo on the page would be to use a lenticular ...
I wish I'd seen the auction for the DP prop Bitsy, I would've been sorely tempted to bid on it! Wink

Seriously! The article writing would be incredibly fun!  Cheesy

A lenticular photo is a good idea--it's about as close as muggles can get to moving pictures.

Maybe there will be another DP auction soon.  Praying

I've been working on a Lockhart Magical Me book for a while (I was getting frustrated with it, so I put it away).  I bought a Lockhart chocolate frog card, removed the backing so that it's now a nice, thin lenticular, and that will go on the cover of the book.  It isn't as good as the real picture of Lockhart, but at least it has motion. That was a seriously brilliant idea! Can't wait to see a picture of the Lockhart book when you are done!  Smiley

Those are both awesome! Love the Dumbledore one! Are you going to do one with the "Dumbledore, Potter Vindicated" headline to go with the "Dumbledore Daft or Dangerous" one you have finished?"

Thanks for the compliment. Your Idea with the "Dumbledore, Potter Vindicated" headline sounds interesting. I have to watch the movie one more time and see if i can manage it.

That's another fantastic DP! Miss Bellatrix--she is so evil...but a fantastic character...and an even more spectacular actress! Can't imagine anyone else in that role.

What software programs are you using to create your props?  You should be able to replace the color in that logo with black if you have PhotoShop or other editing software.
