Hey folks,

Just a quick number of thank yous!

1) Thanks Chris/Gimli (lovely to meet you by the way) and even more thanks for helping me to find a RON WEASLEY CLOTHING CARD

Yea, I have had the Harry 750 cloak for a while - I got that in the first box I opened, then I bought a Hermione 900 robe from Chris Chidgey, (a reasonable price, thanks!) and then today we found a seller who was selling the hermione auto for £150! Not bad huh? (before you ask... no I didn't buy it) They also had 2 rows with a few Ron robe cards on, we (Chris and I) asked them the price and they explained that the Ron 100 was £200 and the Ron 500 was £40  Shocked

I didn't barter, I just paid it  Tongue

So finally a lovely set of 3! So now my HP collection is the 3 robe cards, a dervish and banges, honeydukes bag, sirius auto and the 3 lenticular case loaders!

LUUUUUVLY

(sorry Ben, my George weasley is in a 9 pocket page on it's own Tongue)

2) Thanks to Ben for falling asleep in the car and leaving hair gel marks on the inside of the window...  Roll Eyes I'll send you the bill when Mark has cleaned it! (Ben then fell asleep on the train and ended up at platorm 9b of Kings Cross (the nearest you get to platform 9 3/4)

3) Thanks to Ed Van Halen for the nice poster, we will get Bernard Hill to sign it and then we will pack it off to Ed Bart in New Hampshire for Christmas.

 Wink

4) Thanks to MPC for providing 4 tables for us all to meet around... and drool over those red promos... I think I might have to get myself a set of those... actually I am not so fussed about the blue and green promos now, it's the red I am after Wink

Here's the meeting place (MPC's stall, currently manned by MPC's missus' Dad! mostly because MPC is camera shy, or possibly wanted in 7 countries for cases of trading card theft, espionage and intregue, and therefore doesn't want to be caught on camera!):

And here is Ben, proudly at the showmasters stand because they announced KARL URBAN will be attending collectormania 6 - they only announced it today hence the hand written notice  - Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

(Ben is going to hate that photo - sorry Ben!)

PS. CHRIS - I hope you got home in time to go to the cinema with your wife and mother in law... did you see anything good - Bourne Supremacy?

P.P.S. Ben we made it to the housewarming ok - on account of getting up so early we left the party early but they were getting to the drunken twister stage so we were happy to leave really!

ALL IN ALL THANKS FOR A CRAZY BUT GREAT DAY EVERYONE!

R

... And the award for most antagonising person of the day goes to... MPC!

Let me give you the gist of the conversation (which we walked in half way through) Chris/Gimli walked into Memorabilia with a "want" list, which included a Frodo Travel Vest. MPC says "buy this box, I feel it's lucky"... hmmm Sam costume lucky??

By the sounds of it Gimli ummed and ahhed and by the time we got there MPC was OPENING the box!

What did it yield?

A FRODO TRAVEL VEST!

Argh!

well It was a long day out but I really enjoyed it. It would have been worth the effort to just meet Roz Mark Ben Ed and Richard but I made some nice purchases too.

Because of Roz and Richard I came away with a case of Thunderbirds Movie cards which I have to say for inserts were great I got 30 specials and in those some great Sketch cards. Most exciting was I pulled a Ben Kingsley auto (that was the one I wanted).

So thanks all for a great day out it was good to meet you all and can't wait for the next one

Umm faced with the choice of 100 at £200 or an identical card (500) for 1/5 of the price, I splashed out on the 500 card. But this is the rare one which doesn't go on ebay for much less than the (limited to) 100 card  Smiley so I am very very very very very happy bunny! The "classiness" of my set has raised considerably since yesterday! Look here:

 Grin (isn't he nice?)

Because of Roz and Richard I came away with a case of Thunderbirds Movie cards
...

moi? Innocent little me?

Well the thing is MPC seems to be able to sell for such low prices it's easiest just to join in the fun and buy things off him!

It was a blast opening the case even though Thunderbirds isn't something I am into - with costumes, autos and sketches I think it's a great set! I am inching more and more towards sketch cards all the time

(for some things... for instance he can't get great prices on Topps  Cry but Potter is cool enough for me!)

So when is the next meet up then? Collectormania 6? Hopefully the next potter set will be out then so we can ogle the new set!  It seems that the next Memorabilia is the November 27 & 28 so get it booked folks! Time will tell if Cards Inc get their shipment over here and out to UK dealers in time for the fair. If they don't I think (unless the release is delayed) there will be dealers with directly imported boxes, cases and cards!

Oooh! FUN FUN FUN!

Dear oh dear, by the sounds of it, you may want to listen to MPC the next time he says he has itchy fingers while holding a box Wink or maybe he has that super-sniffing card collecting german shepherd on the job in his boxes Grin

Oh, and 1000 points (and our undying admiration) to the person who gets Karl Urban to sign more than 'KL' at C6 Grin

A very good point FTY, I will sit over him until we get decent signatures!

Good point Popple! Are you in the UK? Maybe you'd like to join us in November?? Ahh, I just looked up your profile - NE England... shame not NW or you could have ridden in the back of MPC's van with the HP cases... hmm perhaps he would not have allowed that  Wink

He hee! Finally someone to get Ben in order  Wink Good luck Popple's Missus is all I can say!

Yes you should definitely have booked an extra night or two! We travelled for 2 and a half hours to get there - but thankfully hadn't missed out on the bargains Wink obviously the Harry Potter fan clan all arrived in the same car  Grin

It was so great to see the promos close up - the blue and green look great but the red are out of this world cool! As they have a more textured effect to the foil - i can recommend them wholeheartedly but please avoid the auction going up in 25 minutes as I am bidding on that one  Wink

The blue and green foils are not patterned on the foil but flat! Looks good - but the red is still greatest (and about 1/3 of the price)!

Hello to Roz, Mark, Ben, and Ed!

Sounds like you are the 4 Musketeers of the Trade Shows - one for all, all for one and a great time had by all!!
Smiley  I wish I was there with you all!   Smiley  I have been unable to post because of the effects of Hurricane Charlie which passed right over us leaving nothing like the death and destruction in Florida.  We only lost power for most of the day thankfully!
