OK folks, here's an interesting one...
I've just started at my new job at the BBC a months ago. A couple of days ago I'm informed that I should organise the secret santa for our team. Now while that's quite a big job for a newbie, I think it will help me settle in and get to know people a bit better. Here's the trick - it's got to be extremely cheap (if not free) and imaginative.
By way of an example, apparently what happened last year was that everyone in the team sent in 4 songs in MP3 format to the organiser. One song was their favourite upbeat song, another was their favourite relaxed song, the song that reminds them most of working at the BBC and another completely random song of their choice. The organiser then put them all together in playlists and posted them for download on the intranet. It was a unique and thoughtful present from everyone that didn't cost a penny!
So this year it's my go and I'm struggling to think of anything. I thought maybe of getting everyone to write something (I know that's pretty vague but a lot of my ideas involved creative writing of some sort) but then realised that not everyone is particularly confident at that sort of thing.
Maybe I'm being influenced too strongly by last years offering but it was such a good idea I'm having a hard time thinking of something that'll match up. Any ideas you have would be really helpful as I'm sure there are plenty of creative people on this forum with fresh ideas.
Remember the emphasis must be on collaborative and cheap! Thanks guys, I know you're going to save my butt on this one
