OK folks, here's an interesting one...

I've just started at my new job at the BBC a months ago. A couple of days ago I'm informed that I should organise the secret santa for our team. Now while that's quite a big job for a newbie, I think it will help me settle in and get to know people a bit better. Here's the trick - it's got to be extremely cheap (if not free) and imaginative.

By way of an example, apparently what happened last year was that everyone in the team sent in 4 songs in MP3 format to the organiser. One song was their favourite upbeat song, another was their favourite relaxed song, the song that reminds them most of working at the BBC and another completely random song of their choice. The organiser then put them all together in playlists and posted them for download on the intranet. It was a unique and thoughtful present from everyone that didn't cost a penny!

So this year it's my go and I'm struggling to think of anything. I thought maybe of getting everyone to write something (I know that's pretty vague but a lot of my ideas involved creative writing of some sort) but then realised that not everyone is particularly confident at that sort of thing.

Maybe I'm being influenced too strongly by last years offering but it was such a good idea I'm having a hard time thinking of something that'll match up. Any ideas you have would be really helpful as I'm sure there are plenty of creative people on this forum with fresh ideas.

Remember the emphasis must be on collaborative and cheap! Thanks guys, I know you're going to save my butt on this one Smiley

okay here is an idea  my kids do it here and it is very cheap but certainly fun ( but not sure adults would get into it) what they do it get the left over roll from the wrapping papper and  so wrapping paper and make there own bon bons but they put thier favorite lollies in it then give it to there sibling.

why not get them to pick out there favorite poem  and do the same with the songs most poem have be put to audio or the person can read it then send it to you for mp3 format

or you can just ask them to send the favorite christmas carol sung by the favorite person

hope some of these help

This idea was passed along to me. Smiley

Make a collage of pictures of all your co-workers that can be made into a wallpaper for their computers.  Each co-worker can provide a special Christmas wish to their fellow co-workers that can be placed below each person's picture.

How about baking something?  I know not everyone can cook but everyone can have a go at gingerbread men or decorating a little Christmas cake.

Thanks for the good ideas guys Smiley

In the end I was let off the hook because I was new and probably wasn't the best person to organise something that would work best if I actually KNEW the people involved lol!

Hope you all have a great Christmas...
