Just thought as i`m new here i`d ask people how many cards they have and do they aim to collect master sets or just certain cards?  as a way to get to know people more. I`m from the U.K and i havent got many cards yet as i havent been collecting very long i`ve got about 43  Embarrassed, and no rare ones. But i plan to change all that,  Grin
Have you all been collecting since day one or are there new collectors like myself too, i recognise some names from e-bay ids and i think its nice to get to know the person behind the name,  Wink . My sisters been a massive harry potter card collector for a long time and shes very fussy about her cards and loves them, i`ve always been a fan of harry potter films but now the card collecting has rubbed off on me and now i`ve well and truely got the bug, big time  Cheesy

I just collect specific cards. When I started out, I was collecting every card under the sun! But I eventually learned to narrow my collection and focus on certain cards/themes. For example, I like to collect props that are in some way critical to the story (i.e. The Sorcerer's Stone, Tom Riddle's Diary). Sometimes I try to get cards that are specific to one of the main characters. And then, of course, there are those I just particularly like.  Cheesy

I did not discover these cards until the POAU set. They are absolutely amazing cards! I love all the variations.  Smiley

i've not posted on here for while, my HP collecting has slowed up somewhat. i've been saving.  well trying not to spend as much on cards.

i first started collecting from POA, right from the start.

i've ended up with master sets of all the releases up to OOTP, with the exception of 4 cards.

25 case for COS
hermoine auto for MM.
harry wand and cedric wand for GoFU.

i do have ootp and ootpu, but am a way off master sets.  few props and autos missing.  not bothered so far with 3d second edition.

I started right after PoA came out (the beginning), when I first spotter Hermione's pink sweater costume from that set.  I don't have master sets, just collect what I like, but I was lucky enough to get a hot box from the GOFU set. That eans the box had every auto, prop, costume and filmcard from the set, minus the case incentive cards. I only got the 2 case incenitve from that set, but it is the closest to a master set I will ever get.

all my cards are in 9 pocket pages in the binders for the set.  except the SS, the cards are too thick for pages so are in some ultra-pro deck boxes i found in local shop.
i am selling my sets at the mo, or have been trying too but dont think i will get the prices i am after at this time.  i want to sell them as master sets rather than take the time to list them individually.
i will keep the poa set though as this was the first one released.  theres a thread in the poa section about my pear tree leaves card.  the unnumbered varient.

It isn't a good time to list cards on eBay, unless you are selling individual cards that are variants.  Many of those are doing extremely well, because there are a lot of new HP collectors who are trying to play catch-up with the sets.  Common costumes, autos, and props are not selling well.

its on page 4 of the pear tree thread about list of owners Smiley

i think you're right about the selling kbmum, not so good at the moment.  i've seen that with other things too.  Mainly clothes.  i'm into Stone Island and CP clothing and the good stuff is not fetching any where near what it should be getting.  i'm finding it hard to sell on jackets and coats i have.  good for buyers though as you say.
