I'd love to meet Robert, but that's in Dallas so I'm going to have to settle for something a little more close so I'm going to the Houston one.

Good question. I went to meet Alyssa Milano once and it wasn't that bad. Yet, I went to meet Robert Englund and got there early, but still stood in line for 6 hours. I guess it depends how well known the event is...and the person being there. I m waiting for times to get posted because I actually have another thinkg to be at from 11-12 that day and need to know if I need to reschedule or not. You crack me up. Needless to say, my husband hasn't been all too thrilled with my giddiness over this event.

There's nothing wrong with a little giddiness! Could you call the store and ask whether they know the hours yet?

They haven't even selected the actual stores yet, just locations. Thing is, there is no Hot Topic in Philadelphia like it says, so it will either be a little further out in PA, or at one of the malls that is within 10 minutes of me in NJ. Hopefully they will update the site really soon, as the "tour" starts in 9 days.

I am not happy I just found out the mall is 45 minutes away from me. No big deal. However, they are opening at 7am that day to give out wristbands. To get one, you have to buy a Twilight Tour Tee for $30. Not only that, but both my husband and I would have to buy one to both get in. Only the first 500 are able to get in. Then....the signing is not until 6:30 pm!!!!!!!! I have a doctors appointment at 11:45, which means I need to get there at 7 (leaving my house at 6am....), come back home (this is now an hour and a half drive total). Go to my appointment, and then go back to the mall later!!!! With bridge tolls and the two shirts (which would both be the same), that is $68!!!! Not to mention the gas, which would be about another $20. Is it even worth it? Really?

That's a lot of hassle for an autograph. However, you could sell the extra shirt and auto on eBay to help recoup some of the expense.

It wouldn't be so bad if only one of us could buy the shirt or if they had more than one shirt since Hot Topic charges about $30 for shirts anyway, but we would both end up with the same "tour" shirt. I also found out that they will only be signing the Twilight movie posters they will be giving out there (unknown size) and NO photos will be allowed. If I spend $60, I would want to be able to take a picture. That sucks.
And if the signing is from 6-7:30 for 500 people, what, we each get 18 seconds to meet him? I stood in line for 6 hours to meet Robert Englund (I know, I am crazy), but we stood there and talked with him for about 5 minutes and only paid $25 for one auto and were able to take great pictures and video!!! He even posed with us for a picture.
Oh, but I did find out that after the signing, there is a 30 minute Q&A in the common area of the mall that anyone can attend. Maybe I could just do that???

I shop at Hot Topic regularly and their shirts are never over $25 dollars so even though you have to buy the shirt to get the wristband technically your buying the shirt and wristband I'm with Sara on this. Most of the locations if not all are major malls and most of us don't live directly in the city so it'll take time and money to get there where you'll have to spend more time and money.

Of course, I am sure the wristband isn't much. Hot Topic is making a fortune on this one. I am still torn as to what to do, but don't want to get shoved in and out without getting a picture. I think I would feel robbed.

To make a long story short, the tour started today, The Seatte one with three of the cast members I don't know, went fine. The San Fran one where Robert Pattinson was appearing got cancelled. Why? Well, people were not allowed on mall property until 6am, so between 12am and 3am, they started lining up across the street. Remember, only the first 500 get in. At 6am, there was a made rush. One girl broke her nose and another passed out due to being shoved up against the glass and losing her breathe. More than 3000 people showed up. It was a mob scene so police or security cancelled the entire event for today. Will see how it goes in Dallas tomorrow, but 3000 people is a lot and not worth my time. I will try to go to the Q&A in the evening, but I am not getting crushed by a mob of teenage girls in the middle of the night just so I can watch him sign a poster in front of me for 15 seconds.

If 3,000 people showed up to get the wristbands, can you imagine how many of them will stay at the mall all day? I bet you'll need to be in your seat for the Q&A by noon. Honestly, this sounds like a nightmare.

We are going there early afternoon to do some shopping. I'll be able to tell by then if it is worth it or not. I heard that people came to the CA one from Hawaii even!!! That is just plan crazy. Luckily, the mall we are going to is huge, so it won't feel mobbed walking around the mall. I heard the one in CA was a small mall, but since the even was canceled altogether there, I doubt they stuck around, but you never know.

Good grief!! I'm delighted Robert appears to have so many fans but surely the organisers are to blame for his fiasco? I know how much you'd love to meet him Sara but your safety has to come first ... I bet Ryan will think so too!
