Inkworks will release the Twilight set in November. The company just announced that the autos have been canceled and the price per pack has been reduced from $3.49 to $2.49. The set will include pieceworks (costumes) and lower-level chase. http://www.inkworks.com/products/twilight/movie/twilight1.htmlIf anyone has placed an order for boxes or cases, you may want to check with your dealer about the price reduction.

They couldn't get the actors to sign. Part of the problem could be that the set was moved up when the movie release was moved up, and maybe Inkworks ran out of time to negotiate for the autos.

I'm kind of glad the autos where canceled - this way the set won't be outrageous for those of us who usually can't afford decent autos. I don't even want to imagine how much a Bella or a Edward would go for

Wow, that's somewhat crazy - I've never seen anything like it - not with HP, not with anything - go Inkworks!!
Anyone read the stories - are they a bit teenie or might an oldie like me enjoy them?

Roz, some people can (and do) disagree with me, but I'm as far outside of the "target audience" as you can get, this side of Bollywood. The books don't come across as "teenie", there's no "shades of Goosebumps" here.
Sure you have genre attraction when you involve vampires and tweenage girls. But I thought the writing was extremely good for a first novel, probably better than JKR's first. It's accessible to adults. An awful lot of the "action" takes place inside the head of the main character, which was one reason it was tough to turn it into a top-notch movie. Ask fans of Isaac Asimov of how they had to stretch his plots beyond breaking to bring one of the "thinkie" works to the screen. Characters are well drawn, and the big problem might be that people lost patience and sympathy for the main character, Bella.
The books take a subject that has been "done before" but takes it into new directions. I wouldn't call it Great Literature, but it's a satisfying read. Perhaps the plot in four books could have been accomplished in three. I finished the first book and wondered how the series could extend too much farther, but she did a good job of taking it into solid new directions. Though I thought most of the movie was decent, the books are better. I don't think they would have made such an impact if they had been written only for the eyes of the teens; there's a big theme of reaching adulthood/immortality that can resonate with people who missed some of the excitement their first time around.

I can't believe those prices for the base sets. I don't think I paid over $20.00 for my set. Of course I didn't get the "Different or Pursuit Cards". I did pay $400.00 for the complete Piecework set from Digital Heros. He said Twilight was the best selling cards he had this year. I know his complete piecework sets sold out in pre-order.

Considering that the Edward/Robert Pattinson card is now selling for more than $300, you got a great deal on the complete set of costumes! I'm surprised that Pattinson's HP costume cards aren't selling for more. I did a search for his GOF auto, but came up with nothing that was listed over the past few weeks. I'm curious whether Twilight fans would pay good money for his HP auto.

It ought to be mentioned that Jules saw something in RP from the start - something the rest of us didn't quite notice.
Cindy RP's auto was pretty rare even at the time, but folks if you are thinking of selling one I daresay that this is the right time. My final few Cedric costumes are flying out of my little eBay shop so his previous work hasn't exactly gone unnoticed.
It sounds like I'd better get myself to Amazon to get hold of copies of the books.

I am really made at myself with this one. Like Jules, I have been a huge fan of RP from the beginning. I never bothered to get his HP auto once I got the Quad since it is on that, but I wish I did. As far as this set, I was going to get one box, but decided I would just buy a base set and RP's piecework card once I found out he only had one card in the set. Well, obviously, I own neither. I would have been better off trying my luck with a box and then selling the base sets if I was not satisfied. At least I have his costumes from HP. And if anyone feels like selling his single auto card from GOF for the average price it used to sell for, let me know
