Has anyone else checked out Stephen Fry's website? (I'm asking everyone but maybe I'm particularly looking at you Jo!)

http://www.stephenfry.com/

There's so much on there, I already follow his twitter feed (and yours Jules, so you are in good company) but his blogs and his 'podgrams' really are something else....I would thoroughly recommend them though they are really rather long so you must persevere to see his true genius (anyone who has read Tolkien will be nodding at around this point!!) I haven't dared to look in the forums for fear of becoming addicted to those also.

Fry recorded the audiobooks for JK Rowling here in the UK (for HP, obviously) and though I haven't heard the American audiobooks I just can't imagine anyone could ever read them any better, but if you want a sampler Fry has just released some short stories by Oscar Wilde (his fairytales) and Chekhov (2 of my literary heroes!) on iTunes.

Well worth a look - anyone else a Fry-addict? To Americans he may not be well known, but here he is more famous than Hugh Laurie (who was originally the other half of his double-act). Fry has recently filmed a programme of his travels around America in a London Taxi aiming to improve British perceptions of the American people, some folks might enjoy that, they might even feel indignant that Fry, a Brit has seen more of their country than they have Wink but he did get to do it at the expense of the BBC so don't feel too bad Smiley

I will have to check that out Roz when I get back from Japan! I do love Stephen Fry who I've seen in Fry and Laurie and Jeeves and Wooster with Hugh Laurie and also in a couple of random movies. The man is a genius. Have you read his autobiography Roz? Great read Smiley

I saw that site it does look really good, I haven't been back yet as I know I will be there for hours. Jim Dale read the US HPs as far as I know, not sure why they got another brit when they might as well have had Fry no one can read it like him.

The new series of QI has just started but there are two versions.

Jim Dale is a Brit? I've never heard of him outside the context of reading HP. I just assumed he must be American.

How strange...

O ye of sheltered upbringing. Jim Dale is one of our most talented actors. See here...

and

You have probably seen him a lot and not realised who he is.

The Artbox website is so old, Indiana Jones has started looking for it

Nope, I've heard of them but never seen them - I must have been living under a rock...  Cheesy

Sounds like I need to make some popcorn and catch up - I did receive a book '1001 films you must see before you die' book in the office Secret Santa this year (from my film soul mate... he has been declared my film soul mate by facebook and therefore it MUST be true!)

Jim Dale is a phenomenally talented person. You can recognize his Harry Potter characters by his voice, in the seventh book, as well as in the first book.

Roz, don't you know the principle of this sorcery? These are the films you must avoid. If you don't see them all, You Will Never Die!!
