just wondering if anyone knows if Topps is going to produce cards for upcoming Transformer movie.  And , if so, any juicy details or rumors on what's included (autos, props, sketch, etc).  I didn't see any news listed on their website but a dealer hinted to me that something may be in the works (no details though).

Right now, it looks like the set will have 45 base cards that are stickers, die-cut pop-ups, temporary tattoos, and autos of some of the actors and voice talent.  There is no word yet about the insert ratios for the autos.  This could be less than one per box, so buyer beware.  The autos are expected to include:

Shia LeBeouf as Sam Witwicky
Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime
Charles Adler as Starscream
Mark Ryan as Bumblebee
Robert Foxworth as Rachet
Jess Harnel as Ironhide

The expected release date is May 25.

Fab. Haven't seen the first movie though, is it a 'must see'? Is it a 'must see on blu ray'?

I watched the first one on DVD.  It was good, but not spectacular.

i agree. it was good but not that great. I think the special effects were probably more amazing then the acting.I think I'll be waiting for the 2nd movie to come out on dvd... movies are expensive to go to nowadays. *sighs*  do you guys think there will be a demand for a product like this? My boss bought the 1st transformers thinking he'd do well on it but did not get a lot of demand for it so he's not going to order this one unless someone specfically requests it..

Hard to tell if these will be a hit or not.  Topps has not promoted them much, and we still don't know the autograph insertion odds at all.

Being a sticker-card product, it's mostly geared towards kids and the retail market.  I've also been told the cards will be of just the robots, no live actors at all in the set.

I gave it a pass based on the little bit of information Topps gave us before ordering deadline.

I believe the only exception (thus far) is the Shia LeBeouf (as Sam Witwicky) autograph card.  Otherwise it appears to be the voice of the robots signing.  I was hoping that Megan Fox would sign again (Tom told me she's a tough one), but we'll see.

yeah (like many have said) it was good but not great.  I have it on Blu ray and like the special effects.  The acting is okay.
