Best Star Trek film by several million light years It flowed through 2 hours and is the first film I've seen in a long time that made me wish there was another just around the corner. For those who know Trek history, the changes to the timeline made perfect sense and although there was a bucket load of coincidences to get the crew together, nothing seemed forced. As long as the actors are available, this new series of films should run and run. My daily newspaper gave it 15 out of 10. Spot-on.

Only Star Trek film Ive ever seen, and I enjoyed it despite not knowning a lot of the ins and outs of a Trek film. Found it very entertaining. Didn't really appreciate the confiscating of phones and use of metal detector though (I saw the film a couple of weeks ago).

I think we've all arrived at a very special place. Spiritually, acumenically, grammatically.

I thought it was a terrific movie. The 2+ hours did go by very quickly and I really enjoyed it overall.

It was over two hours long? I didn't even notice. Didn't really appreciate the confiscating of phones and use of metal detector though (I saw the film a couple of weeks ago). We didn't anything confiscated but there was the longest "Please Turn Off Your Cell Phones and Put Them Away Now" message before the previews started. Didn't help much because the guy next to us had a 5 minute conversation on his cell phone

We didn't anything confiscated but there was the longest "Please Turn Off Your Cell Phones and Put Them Away Now" message before the previews started. Didn't help much because the guy next to us had a 5 minute conversation on his cell phone Neither did we but I daresay that was because she was at a super duper preview I thought this was EXCELLENT - I saw it in a super small cinema in the countryside of Surrey, so I'm totally up for booking to see it again at the iMax in London. If any Londoners want to join me, PM me and we'll choose a date, it will have to be in a few weeks and after work, say an 18:20 showing? (Yes, it will also make me leave work on time too - woo!). I'm not a hard core ST fan so I don't know some of the back story, but I knew enough to be delighted as the characters were introduced, I can imagine that if you take a hard core ST fan along with you to this you'll have to glue them to the seat to stop them from constantly jumping up in excitement. I will happily go to see any sequels they do Simon Pegg did seem to type cast the whole Scottish Sci Fi thing by seeming rather too like David Tennant, but he was still excellent , he also wins the honour of being the most unglamorous and Hollywood type character in the lot. It was great to see Karl Urban again too, I haven't seen him in anything since LOTR. The haircut in LOTR flattered him better though

I saw the film at the Manchester IMAX theatre (The Printworks). I absolutely LOVED it! I'm a big fan anyway but everything was so right about it. One thing that really caught my eye was the way the Enterprise was presented below decks - all gantry's, steel walkways, pipes and girders. Made it much more 'real world' than the somewhat sterilised view we've gotten used to with ST:TNG, Voyager et al. And Karl Urban was magnificent as Bones, the standout performance for me. And I bought a master set of the trading cards
