You could go to the price guide, look at the recent average price for each card, and add them up for an approximate worth.  I'm not sure that the unnumbered pear tree leaf would sell for more than a numbered card.

and you're probably right about the pear tree card.  people may be put of by it not being numbered.

Don't do it down though Smiley it's highly intriguing... and after all this time it's not like 100 have suddenly landed on eBay is it??

I wouldn't like to say what it's all worth but I think it will be a LOT! Good luck...

I think you'd do better to sell each card individually, unless you're able to locate a highly motivated buyer who's willing to buy the set.  My guess is that there will be more people interested in buying any single card than there would be people who want a complete set.

I mostly agree. One target buyer for the scarcest items will be somebody who already has most of the other scarce items. If they buy the set, they would hope to make back part of the price by selling off the ones they already had. If they're right about that strategy, it implies you were wrong.  Roll Eyes

Then again, the same buyer who already almost has everything might be willing to pay more the the scarcest items, with the same hope, than they would if the auction was for a single card.

It's hard figuring strategy for such a "life-changing" decision it would be to buy the whole shebang. I'm missing 7 cards from the set, and if I add up the "recent average" from the Price Guide, it adds up to $4,283.93 for those 7. Which is about what the last (numbered) Pear Tree Leaves auction closed at. ...

interesting discussion.

and you may be right in saying to sell them individually, as most collectors would have some of the cards already, so may only want a couple.  i still have yet to add them up as individual cards though.  i think an offer of £1,500 for the set is some what cheap!!

there have been some POA cards on ebay recently with BINS, cant remember exactly and not sure if they sold.  what i may do is list the master set with a high BIN price, i mean HIGH and use best offer to see what people put in.  or i could list with a really high reserve as an auction and see how high it goes.
but do i really want to sell it??  i have soldquite alot of my HP cards alreadt to fund other things, and this would really be the last set i sell.

anyway, all thoughts and ideas are appreciated.

Selling sets is always tough.  Common thought I have seen is to split em up and sell em singly.  But testing the waters with a high BIN or high reserve can't hurt, at most you are out the cost of the listing fees.

The error card could go either way.  If there is a collector that buys errors, then they will pay top dollar for it.  But other people will view it as being a non mint card, since its not as intended when made.

Should you sell it?  Hard to say.  Do you want/need the money?  If so, then however much your want/need is your minimum accepted offer.  Keep in mind that collecting master sets tends to get harder as time goes on as cards are already in collections, and tend not to surface.  Even now, most of the cards on ebay tend to be the lesser popular ones in large quantites, and some of the rarer ones not at all.

Okay then, my thought is that you should keep the master set. Otherwise, you need to change your sig line

right, ok then.  i have done some maths, using the price guide and trying to remember what i paid for the cards i have come up with a master set price.

Autos = £600
Costumes = £360
Props = £2,710

so a total price for a master set, and that means MASTER , (all promos and tins and extras)

£4,000!!!!!!!!!!! Shocked
