Of course there's going to be a Deathly Hallows movie, two of them, in fact.  Production has all ready begun.

I think your friend was trying to freak you out Wink The movies have been announced and going full steam ahead for awhile. I just hope that they won't be released too far apart - perhaps to a similar timeline as the Matrix Reloaded/Revolutions which were released within a single year (if my memory serves me correctly!)

The scheduled release is November 2010 for DH1 and July 2011 for DH2.  They're filming both movies in one go (like the LOTR trilogy).  With that schedule, will Artbox release DH1 in November 2010, DH1U in March 2011, DH2 in July 2011, and DH2U about six months later? Shocked Shocked Shocked  Or will they wait to do update sets until after both movies have been released?  Then, of course, there will be a gazillion retrospective sets...

Plus we'll need updates to the Literary and Posters sets too!

Because filming will have been completed long before TDH2 Update, what's the excuse going to be for having autograph redemptions?  Roll Eyes

I really want an update of the literary set.  That would have been a nice filler set after the HBP set was delayed last fall.

I doubt it for two reasons.  First, an update set is produced because the studio doesn't want all of the images and materials used before the movie comes out -- these would be spoilers.  Since Artbox did the SS and COS sets well after both movies were released and didn't have those restrictions on the images, there was no need for update sets.  Second, I would guess that most of the materials that could have been used for SS or COS update sets were used for MM1, MM2, SDCC-exclusive sets, 3D1, and 3D2.

Third, an update set takes advantage of the renewed following/buzz for a movie when the DVD is released. Everybody's back in the mood, and it's valuable free advertising when you have a card set available.

As for Cindy's Point #2, I'm sure they have some costume and prop material set aside for MM3, 3D3, SDCC, and future compilation sets. They haven't used the "Harry Potter Connections" idea with characters, though there's a similar thought in 3D2.  (But it's true that they wouldn't have made arrangements with the studio to hold out extra materials because they didn't have the license yet.)

There has to be an idea for a set to celebrate the opening of the Universal theme park. (Like the Literary set, that might be a separate license. But the mind boggarts with speculation on what might show up in the gift shop at the park!)  Azn
