There's a big difference between hobby and retail boxes.  I wouldn't be happy to buy a good bag and pull a retail box when there isn't anything extra in the bag to make up for it.

My thoughts exactly!

I just want to make clear that I'm peeved at Artbox for inserting the cheaper retail boxes into the goody bags. Smiley  I have nothing against Bryan selling a goody bag.

Some people didn't even get a retail box. Instead, there was a sealed GOF tin  Angry

I have a Dumbledore Bust for sale as well Tongue

Yeah, but for $80 getting two binders (one exclusive) an autograph (possibly the Luna exclusive) a prop/filmcard, a costume card, AND the three card prop set it isn't that bad whether you get a retail or hobby box.

I still feel like I got more than my moneys worth with everything minus the box. For the record, my two bags containted 1 hobby and 1 retail.

Wait till you guys hear this.

Sunday there will be a 6 Card set being auctioned off. Each card contains the ENTIRE Letter patch from Goblet of Fire....what letter patches from GOF?

How about
P O T T E R from the back of his costume from the second task.

I will try to take a photo of it later. Apparantly last night, they auctioned off a 4 card set of Cedrics entire Hogwarts Patch from his GOF outfit.

Well the way I see it, Artbox could have cut up the letters and put them in the cards, that would seem pretty dull to me. They also could have included 6 1/1's in the packs, but then only one person would ever be able to make a master set. I like what they do, the cards do not look like GOF, they have their own design, so you cannot call them part of any set, therefore NOT having them does not affect the term "master set"

I am going to try my hardest to win the Potter Hogwarts patch tonight, I hope it does not go extremely high. If I win it, I promise to get some iPhone photos up of it right away.

Also, if anyone is interested in either of the Crystal card sets, or the 4 card Metal set, PM me and let me know and I will get you a price...I have not seen any pop up on Ebay yet. I also have two of the four card costume/prop sets left as well.

I agree with Bryan about whether some of these items should be mentioned in the same context as a "master set."

There's a history of a card company issuing cards on one license that are associated with a card release, and separately issuing cards for a different distribution. Several companies made cards that were inserted in action figures, and those cards kept the same design as the regular card sets, but are judged to be separate. I would argue that the Felton auto from SDCC08 and this year's Lynch auto aren't part of the HBP set.

That doesn't mean they aren't part of a "Harry Potter Master Set." But I have a separate category for SDCC exclusives unless they are specifically promos for the release of a large set. The "Potter Stinks" prop is marked for GOF, but that's the movie. It's not part of the GOF set, GOF Update, Memorable Moments 1 or 2, or World in 3-D 1 or 2. The full patches are special items that Artbox created for Warner Bros.

Oh, and I saw all of the special cards on eBay before I posted above, except for the printing plate set. That's where I got the numbers and titles. Images weren't sharp enough for me to speculate on what's shown on the crystal and metal cards.

Potter 4 card Hogwarts patch went for $2200

And no, not to me. I figured I might as well save my money for the slim chance of getting the 6 card nameplate set

I have just spoken to Boggy and he thought the four card set was a bit larger than normal - the same size as the Death Eater exclusives.  He said the 6 card POTTER set is normal trading card size and absolutely gorgeous.  But to be fair he is having such a good time he may have got it muddled.  He said he would try and post a sneaky picture if he is allowed.

Nope...the Hogwarts patch cards are normal card sized, and the patch is just into 4 equal pieces.

However, I have some cool news (sort of) they auctioned off NINE Rivet costume pieces from Harrys Goblet of Fire costume and I was lucky enough to win one. These are numbered to 9 on the back, and they were auctioned off in three sets of three. Going to go take a picture and post it for you all to see. Smiley

Sorry for the quality, the only thing I can use is my iPhone right now
