Please be advised that Inkworks is no longer honoring redemptions for ANY of its sets. This includes new releases as well as those with expired redemptions. It appears that the company has sold off its stock to a a few dealers, who now have the cards on eBay. You may soon see a lot of sealed Inkworks boxes at rock-bottom prices on eBay. I'd suggest checking Jeff Allender's site to see how many redemption cards are in those sets before deciding whether the purchase would be a good deal. http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/allender/jachlist.htm

I hope you hear back from them. I sent an e-mail Wednesday night about another set, but haven't received a reply.

The problem with the redemptions just came up within the past two weeks, well after the current issue of NSU was sent to the printer. They have sets like Dr Who and Ghost Whisperer that were supposed to be out by now (Dr Who should have been an August release, I believe). There are rumors that the Supernatural license has been shopped around to other companies. Another board has a huge thread about this, but Inkworks, which normally replies on that forum, hasn't posted anything there or on its website to calm collectors. Something is definitely going on. Selling off all of those cards, especially the ones for which the redemptions haven't yet expired, suggests that the company is in dire need of cash. Maybe it's a restructuring, or they could be going out of business.

That's what I was thinking too. With the current economic climate, it's hard for small businesses to get short term loans. When a company starts selling off autograph cards when the redemption hasn't expired yet, it sounds like they need a quick infusion of cash. I'd keep a look out for Artbox too. They don't have as many franchises as Inkworks does.

Artbox doesn't have as many pop culture licenses, but that means it isn't spending money on a lot of different licenses. Plus, it has the backing of a major Japanese corporation which produces gaming cards and stickers. It may be able to weather the economy better than an independently-owned company. It'll be interesting to see what happens with the Memorable Moments 2 release, since I haven't heard any rumblings that it was close to selling out.
As for Inkworks, I can't imagine what they paid for the Dr Who license. To not be able to release the set (yet) after spending all that money must be a huge hit to the bottom line.

It's official. Inkworks has ceased normal business operations, confirmed by Harris Toser at the NSU site.

...with only this to say about current sets... "Inkworks is still honoring redemptions for The Spirit cards. Cards should be sent to the usual Inkworks address. They will honor them through the date on the back of the card, June 30." Love spending my money and then getting screwed! edit.... I was told that I should try sending them in anyways. Will let you all know what happens.

At this point, it can't hurt to send in the redemptions. They might have something they can send you.

I had heard that inkworks sold quite a bit of the redemption cards to several different sellers but I am not sure who they are. Have seen some Sopranos autographs for sale on ebay though already.. I have a feeling that like you kbmum, we'll be seeing the inkworks products that are out there drop tremendously once the news that redemptions aren't being honored.. a shame for those that have a lot of Inkworks in their stock..

There's been an interesting turn of events. Razor Entertainment bought out most of Inkworks' autos and will be selling them in a set called InkArchives. Series 1 will have one auto per pack in a 5-pack box, and a print run of 299 cases (12 boxes each). The price is $100 per box or $600 per case. It was announced a day or so ago and has already sold out. http://blogbeckett.wordpress.com/2009/03/26/razor-acquires-inkworks-autographs-announces-new-product/

Any dealers here carrying the Razor boxes?
I've got a case coming, as long as allocations don't occur. I responded to 1 distributor's email 10 minutes after receiving it and they had already sold everything Razor has allotted them. I'm sure some larger dealers and distributors bought up the lion's share of these, 299 cases isn't a lot of product. Ed

Wow, that is interesting. It also says Series 1, so does that mean they plan to have more coming?
