We are pleased to announce The YakShack Complete Your Collection Event! From 16 to 18 October, 2009 (Friday through Sunday), the Shack will host a yard sale/boot sale for people to buy and sell trading cards, supplies, and other related memorabilia.
Members in good standing have always been allowed to list items for sale in the appropriate boards on the forum, free of charge, but we thought it would be fun to have many people list items or want lists during the same weekend.
The rules:
1. Sellers must be members in good standing with a minimum of 10 posts.
2. Only one “for sale” thread and one want list thread per person (please do not combine for-sale and want items in one thread).
3. The majority of items for sale should be card-related (cards, sell sheets, binders), but sellers can list other items, such as memorabilia and card supplies.
4. Sellers are allowed to include a link to their e-commerce websites. However, they must list at least some of the items for sale in the post.
5. It is recommended that sellers provide an e-mail address for inquires. Some potential buyers might be lurkers and not have a YakShack account that would allow them to use the PM system.
6. It is recommended that sellers list shipping info near the top of the first post (for instance, limits on shipping to certain countries).
7. All transactions are between the seller and the buyer. The Shack will not mediate disputes.
8. Any thread can be deleted at the discretion of the mods.
A special board will be set up for the event, with sections for selling items and posting want lists.
We suggest that anyone who wishes to participate take a few moments to clean out his or her inbox on the Shack, as there is a 100-message limit. You wouldn’t want the deal of a lifetime to slip through your fingers because a message couldn’t be delivered!
