As San Diego seems to be a non-starter, I've decided to go to the Philly card show in May. This has been on my 'must do' list for years, and a little push by some fellow collectors has made me take the plunge.
I'm staying at the Allentown Hilton and would be more than pleased to put faces to the names on this board. I already know Joanna and Sara are going. Post here if you're going to make the trip. See you there.

I hope it's not a terrible disappoinment, Allentown is nothing like San Diego.   I'll be very interested to see how you think it compares to shows in the UK.

I'm missing this one.  The dates are the same as the Motor City Comic Con in Detroit which historically has been a much better show for me.   They get 30,000+ in the door over 3 days compared to less than a thousand for the Philly show.

Oh yes Graham, this is nothing like Comic Con or Wizard World. Somewhere in this forum, I posted pictures from past shows. However, for a card collector, I think it is perfect because it is just that....cards. Not a ton of comics or other collectibles that you see at those bigger shows. And the antique mall it is held in is rather interesting as well. I always look forward to going. Of course, we are usually only there for one day (Saturday), since I live about 90 minutes away. It was so much easier before they moved the show because I used to be about 20 minutes away. Oh well, such is life. It is still closer for me than you  ROFL!

And Ed! We will miss you this year!!!!!! There will be a big empty space along that back wall without you. They will probably fill it somehow, but it will still seem empty to me!

There's nothing but anticipation for this show. What with a whole slew of new cards to see and new fellow collectors to meet. Plus Tony Perna, Elaine Perna, John Czop, Sean Pence, Axebone sketching and Rhiannon Owens having a look around what more could I want? Well there was one thing - I wanted to meet Ed Webb. Never mind. Next time.
