I personally think the acting was poor from daniel in the PStone but he was young and with harry's character having such a detailed physical appearance, you are limited to what actors to choose from. I think he will show his true qualities in the PoA.

The films dont cover what i feel are key events in the book. I would have liked to have seen snapes potion challenge as one of the tasks getting to the Mirror of Erised and Prof. Quirrel. I really need to read the books again especially PoA and OotP  Undecided

Collectively, I would say I have read all the books around 200 times... and that may be an underestimate. V scary. I agree, I would have like to see Snape's potion challenge and can't understand why they did not put it in Angry

I was more disappointed with CoS, PS had a more enchanting, novel air to it, I thought the second movie dragged for a bit

I agree that Dan's acting isn't what it should be.  But he is getting better bless him.  But Rupert who i loved in PS began to annoy me in Cos because of stream of ott facial exressions he seemed to believe qualified as acting.

No. that's not fair.  In fact its harsh, because I do like them, but it just got too frequent to be funny.

I really like the films in that they've opened up the Potterverse for so many people that otherwise would never have discovered it, and as a result for many, got reading again.

But I also dislike it.  It's silly, But it raises further questions like wether you deem yourself a more worthy fan if you've a) read the books or b) read the books before the first film was even being scripted?  Because I try not to, but at the same time, I can't help it.  And I know I shouldn't, but I do.

Another reason why I don't like them is beacuse visually, the movies are becoming so ingrained in my mind that my own, personal interpretations of the characters and places are fading, or rather morphing into the movie versions.  And part of me wants to hold on to my versions,  but another embraces the movie interpretations too.

At any rate, I'm still gonna go watch them at the cinema, and get the Dvd's and basically keep up to date with em as much as possible...

What can I say... I'm an addict...  Cheesy

I agree, but there is alot of stuff they haven't shown yet, like Voldemort with his body. Or the Ministry of Magic etc. I still have my own images of what they look like, I wonder what the movie take on it will be? Voldemort in the movie was nothing like what I imagined he looked like. Kinda wrecked it for me, I couldn't keep myself from laughing at the CG work in Philosophers Stone... even my 7 year old sister wasn't scared!  Grin

I havent seen POA  Sad yet so i cant comment.
The acting in PS was in some parts poor i was almost cringing with embarrassment  Undecided
It got better in COS, but was disappointed with all the parts they missed out. Such as the potion bit as mentioned before, and i would have liked to have seen more of the twins and Lockhart (he's great in the books)
Has anyone seen POA yet? Whats it like?

the acting was better in this one but there were still some bits that let them down, but they are on screen with some of the greatest actors around so the comparison might be bad in that sence ...... but they have come on a long way since PS
