I saw these two buy it nows and hit both of them, and now the seller is saying that it was a mistake that they were buy it nows and is trying to get out of it.

The hermoine was for $99.99 and Sirius for $125.  I would be more understanding if they were for like $9.99, or some unreasonable price, but I hit a buy it now on "exploding bon bons for $150 the other day and they go for close to $400.  What are your thoughts?  Should I let him out of the deal.  Obviously I can't force the seller to send the cards.  I am just unsure of what to do. I had bought two cases from this same ebayer earlier in the week for $625 a piece.  So he has seen a good chunk of my money this week already.  Thanks

Absolutely no way do you let him back out of the deal. He's a VERY experienced seller & maybe he made a mistake, but tough luck on him. It's his mistake & you shouldn't be made to pay for that.

That may sound harsh from coming from a fellow (small-time) dealer, but if I mis-priced an item I would honour the deal. Thats the way of business.

I would mention, politely, what you've just said to us, about all the other money you have spent with him. Those prices are probably more reflective than what people are paying anyway. Hermoines and Sirius Blacks seem to be popping up everywhere so prices may well start to drop soon. I think this is the same guy that Chris bought his Pear Trees off? I don't really know what else to say, but you're right, he may just not send 'em and that would be hassle. And there is no way he is losing money, each still costs more than a box ( of which he has at least 25 cases of!)

Hi

It was me you got the Exp Bon Bons off at $1500 BIN, on Ebay, I listed at that price because I thought it was a fair price based on the quantity (I got 3 out of 5 cases),

As for your BINs from Tommy, all I can say is I have dealt with him for many years (I used to fly to NewJersey from the UK every couple of weeks to buy cards and at the time Beanies!! from him at the Parsippany Card show, and have never found him to be anything other than honest and friendy, and always ready to admit a mistake, so really I think he should keep up his end of the bargain on this, You should really  get your deal

Lets face it he sold Chris a full set of Props on BIN for $499!! Thats an even better deal than you got,

Manybe he is now realising his prices were too low,   So email him and I am sure he will work it out for you

Regards

He has made a mistake, as the last autos he sold of Gary Oldman had a starting price of $125 and finished at about $200.

I suggest you email him back and try to come to some mutual agreement.

I have purchased cards of Tom many times and have received many free promos on top of my purchase FOC.

As far as I am concerned he is one of the best US dealers on eBay.

Dave.

Thanks Vicky,

I don't want you to think that I ripped you off, by any means.  As I feel the same way, $150 for exploding bon bons would seem a fair price for me as well, I just wanted it for my set, and could have hit both of them  that you had, but at the time was still a little unsure of how they were going to go.  And now we see that anything numbered under $100 is sure to bring $300 - $500 on ebay.

The seller did decide to complete the transaction.  So I want to make that very clear, as it appears that there are quite a few of us that have used Tom in the past, and plan to continue to buy from him in the future.  Like I explained to him if the cards would have been mistakenly listed for $9.99 Buy it now, that would have been different, there is no way that I would expect him to honor that (of course it would be nice) but with all the boxes he opened and the cheap price he was selling them at early, I think that he is just kicking himself for dumping so many costume sets, prop sets, and "mini master sets early, and is now realizing he was sitting on a goldmine, and sold way too early.  Anyways, thanks for your thoughts, I mostly just wanted some advice as I have never been in this situation before.

I Certainly don't think you ripped me off, I think $150 is a fair price,

Roz  Will tell you my sale policy, (I upset enough UK dealers with it in the past  Grin )

I started some of my auctions in the UK at 99p and am letting them run, my US$ ones I set at what I thought was a fair price based on previous auctions but more importantly what I considered fair based on what I pulled out of my cases, I got 3 Bon Bons, so was happy to let 2 go on BINs at $150,  the 3rd I put on auction at 99p on the UK Site,

But i must admit I let that one go to an off ebay, the buyer who won my Variant Yellow Weasley Robe was deperate for the Bon Bon Card and the Pepper Imp, and did not want to wait till close of auction so I made a private deal with him, I asked him to name a fair price he would consider paying for them, and he came back and offered me $500 each for the Imp and the Bon Bon, so to be honest greed kicked in and I let them go Was I wrong? I don't think so, I thought that was insanely high, but that was his offer not my request, and he had paid $299 for my variant Robe which was a fair price I think

Anyway I have started to waffle now so I will stop  Huh Huh Huh

But No I dont think you ripped me off, I appreciate you took the card you needed and not both, that was the sign of an honest collector

Regards
